Hi Louis, thx. Just finished modifying the sword taken from an Airfix dragoon.

Created the groundwork.

Im baack... Just getting into the saddle again. Finished ptg this. Will base it shortly.

Was looking at doing this fat duke. I noticed that one of the commercial heads resembled him in the Morier paintings. He was grossly overweight and was wearing a cuirass. So I selected an Airfix cuirass. Notice how small the Historex cuirass is for comparison.

Was stymied for a while. Decided to reshape the left sleeve puff.

Redid the head, beard, legs.

Finished sculpting it. The chain links were made with a hypodermic needle.

I carefully clipped the banners onto the kettledrums. Famboyant guy, isn't he?

OK. One more pix. I placed the figure on the horse.

And I have reached this stage finally. Really for these mtd figures, the chokepoint is adding the bits and reins.

Ptg the drum banners.

Ptg the horse. Ive always liked this dapple grey coat colour, much more interesting than a white horse. The rough finish on the saddle is mostly hidden by the mtd rider.

Finally, added the horse bits and reins! Added spurs to the boots. Added putty to the pants to position the figure on the saddle. Almost done with this long running piece. Started painting it in earnest.
