Considering their other products of which I am familiar I would imagine they are recasts of the 54mm Marx Pirates. Nice figures.
I bought sets of "Glencoe" Marines and Japanese some 20 or so years ago and found them to be great recasts of the Marx figures in nice flexible plastic; the molds...
The last I heard (and on good authority) was that for the time being, HaT has suspended any future plans for its 1/32 line. Sad news, I know. But the sets produced did not sell as well as hoped and it was my understanding there are still some number of boxes from their more arcane sets still...
I had one of those and I had the big (BIG) "Tiger Joe" by Remco. WAY too big but I used them anyway - made them into a "Super Tank" for my 1/32 guys to try and tackle. I just made sure they never had to cross a bridge, go through a European village, or have to cross boggy terrain...{sm4}
I haven't gotten around to painting my WWII guys yet (don't know if I ever will) yours really show how well the two sets go together. Fortunately for me the originals came out in OD that was close, but the paint jobs really make them mix well.
It appears to me that "Fritz" is trying to make the best possible product and keep it at a price that is affordable to most hobbyists. I really loved FOV/21st C vehicles, but for one could never see paying upwards of $100 for a single vehicle (yes, I'm a cheap sucker). I have accumulated a...
I totally agree there is a shortage of good artillery figures actually manning their pieces and doing the job. I do get some comfort in the fact that in my own twelve years in the US Field Artillery I never recall ever having a full authorized compliment of crewman to man our piece - and I...
Very Exciting! Always room for more great figures IMHO. I particularly like the Japanese officer in helmet - rare indeed in plastic; don't know of any. I thought TSSD's guy with the machete was an officer at first. So happy to see this one.
I don't know there was a lot of pre-production work involved in this set as the poses appear to be minor conversions of figures already produced in their Southwestern Cavalry v. Apache series. This may have made it less expensive to put together and therefore attractive. It does answer a demand...
