Imperial Miniatures / AQM - Castings Updates

Things have been a little slow lately due to a number of reasons. I lost a week or so to 'flu and have been very busy with my main wargames business (which pays the bills). Frustratingly, my sculptor for the gun crews, etc has been completely unresponsive and hasn't produced anything in the...

London Toy Soldier Show April 2nd 2016

I'll be there with 12 foot this time and am already in full panic mode of trying to get some stuff ready (and finish off other orders).... I am thinking of picking up some flats to try painting if I see any I fancy.

    Boer Long Tom - Preview

A quick picture of the first casting and test assembly of our new Boer Long Tom 155mm Creusot gun. Shown here with a British Sgt Major for scale. This will come with crew and I am hoping to have it available in complete form at the April Toy Soldier show.... Mike

Imperial Miniatures / AQM - Castings Updates

Hi I have been slowly updating the website with new photographs of sets and adding individual castings. I will add to this thread as I get new sets photographed and castngs sorted out. Generally, foot figures are £5.50 and mounted £14.50 for a casting which is supplied in a bag with a colour...

New Sculpt New Cold Steel Range

The anglo-sikh wars are a fascinating period with a lot of variety in troop types and some fantastic uniforms - who wouldn't want a battery of the Bengal Horse Artillery I did a lot of research into the period a couple of years back to prodce my own very comprehensive 15mm scale wargames...

    Castings and/or painted

Thanks Al, I will. I have just made the moulds for the Indian horses (which are also used for a number of other figures) and am in the middle of painting samples for the Governor General's Bodyguard. The rest of the indian regiments should be done in the next month.

    Castings and/or painted

I hope so, eventually. If there are any of the large sets you are interested in the let me know. I would like to get the Colonial and Indian ranges fully remoulded before moving onto the Imperial Germans, etc but if there is enough demand for a specific range or set I will have a look at...

    Castings and/or painted

After a large number of requests and the valuable feedback here on the Treefrog Treasures Forum I have decided to offer all our figures as castings as well as painted sets. They will be supplied in bags with a colour photo for painting and any assembly instructions if required. It is going to...

    Castings and/or painted

Many thanks for the comments. It will be 10 years this year that I've been making my own moulds and casting figures (and 12 years since I started creating toy soldier ranges for wargaming) and I have developed a certain standard that I expect from my moulds and casting quality. A small amount...

    Castings and/or painted

Hi Yes, AQM as in the figures you have shown - the 70/80mm went to a company called Foxwood Figures who were producing them as resin kits. I have the 54mm figures. Mike

    Castings and/or painted

Many thanks to everyone for taking the time to reply. And for the detailed replies as well. My initial hesitation about offering castings was also based on the very poor quality of the AQM moulds - 95% of them are not usable as they require far too much clean up to provide the figures as...

    Castings and/or painted

Many thanks for the response. The figures are priced at (roughly) £12.50 for foot/£35 for mounted if painted. Did you really mean $15 for a mounted figure? I am assuming it should be $25? At half the painted cost it would be similar to ATS figures if I sold castings - say £6.50 for foot and...

    Castings and/or painted

I am interested in people's opinions on how the ability to buy castings affects their view of a range? If a glossy range (such as the AQM range I am starting to put back into production) is available as castings does that lessen the value of the painted "collectible" sets with a "factory"...

    Battle of Hastings 1066 28mm

Nice setup - I recognise a lot of the figures from my own collection - The Gripping Beast ones anyway - I'm guessing perhaps some Crusader in there? Mike

    Is our Hobby Changing?

It is illegal in the EU to fix a minimum price to prevent retailers from discounting (or them selling on the internet) - it breaks the anti-competition laws - so you need to be careful... Mike

    3D Printer question

It would be interesting to see a photograph of an actual figure. Everything on that site is a render digital image, not an actual physical product as far as I could see. 3D printing is used a lot of vehicles but still really isn't there in terms of quality or cost for figures... Mike

    Is our Hobby Changing?

While my background is the wargames industry and I am still finding my way in the Toy Soldier World, I think that you will always see certain popular subjects that all manfacturers will produce. And they are produced because so many people want them. So, WW2, Napoleonics, Zulu War and other...
