Not to take away from the Dacians but I have to comment on those two mounted Samurai, those look unbelievably well done and cool. I have only one Samurai in my collection but I will be adding this mounted archer for sure and maybe that officer figure as well.
I agree they are great looking figures, except for the facings as already mentioned not looking red enough. I also hope that's up to the photo and not the paint.
Thing is unfortunately most collectors don't know anything about the Dutch Imperial Guard so I hope they will buy them because of...
Conversion work as in a new paint job and a hat {sm3}{sm3} . Sorry Brad but " trivial nonsense " ???? Really . I don't like your tone or comments directed at me for no reason other then me being right and honest in everything I've posted in this tread. One more smart comment directed at me...
How exactly were you right ?
You said "'The sculpt of the face looks a little different and the positioning of the drum is different (although that could be due to the angle of the photo taken) "
How is that possible when they are the same figure. ^&confuse Well so much for...
Ok , I think they look the same just with different paint and the drum is a separate piece that's put on so the angle and position could be slightly different from figure to figure.
I remember when the first batch were released 10 years ago I had the similar question of all the figures...
Just curious as to what your seeing, aside from the Bearskin as already discussed what are some of the small differences your seeing not explained in a repaint ? Maybe I'm missing something ^&confuse
Hi John,
Yea they are repaints, it looks like they may have used the Bearskin cap of the sapper for them all this time around which is without the plate on their figure from the first release. I don't fault em, It's been 10 years between releases and its a real good way to cut cost and improve...
Aren't these just repaints of the 9 original Old Guard Grenadier figures released back in December of 2009 ?
I don't think there is anything new here except for the paint colors, not that that's a bad thing the original figures have been sold out for a pretty long time now. These are 30 bucks...
So does this mean you like these better ? Or that there is a definite difference in the uniforms or quality of the figures ?
I would rather have someone explain the difference in the uniforms if that's possible, Thanks
I get it now, I thought with the thinnnnnnning thing you were making a reference to your current wave of ebay sales. As in thinning out your collection. :redface2: I guess I did miss the joke.:redface2:
Yea I'm definitely a great straight man {sm4}. Cheers Gebhard
This is really a Fantastic piece. I've only visited the ruined remains of temples in South America so I'm really looking forward to seeing this reproduced in it splendor. :salute:::salute:::D
Keep coming back and looking at some of these upcoming releases Jan Sobieski & Company look incredible as do the 25th Regiment of Grenadiers.
Really looking forward to adding these to my collection, no rush as Hobby funds are a bit spread thin at the moment :redface2:
