Here is a photo for comparison with 1:35 scale plastic kit figures. FL figures are significantly larger, so a "true" 1:30 scale is very likely as discussed in previous posts. Nevertheless, this "WWII size" (except US paras and waffen SS) is the smallest compared to all other brands and even...

Thanks again Hunter Rose, you are doing me a great service with all this information because I will probably never have all these tanks. On the other hand, you must have an amazing armored vehicles collection from all brands !. As a "tank fanatic" and "huge rivet counter", what do you think of...

Yes OzDigger, I also had this impression during my remarks on certain FL issues (yet very real and without wanting to nitpick given the high price !). But we shouldn't worry about it and continue to discuss impartially on this forum.

Once again, Hunter Rose, very constructive discussion. And I see that you have good and reliable documentation for measurements : Thomas Jentz books !. I have also several books from this author and many "Panzer tracts".

Thanks Hunter Rose, very appreciated, I had almost never seen in detail the FL BOB Panther. In regard of your side by side photos, it seems that FL Panther is slightly smaller than JJD, especially about the turret (front, side, top). You say that the paint and markings have been altered : have...

Here are some photos comparing FL T-34 with TAMIYA 1/35th T-34. It is obvious that FL is bigger, so 1/30th scale is very likely. I guess logically that other FL vehicles have also this same scale. Effectively, it would be interesting to compare side by side FL tanks to other brands. I can't do...

These are very comprehensive and interesting explanations. So OK, WWII First legion range (except Waffen SS) is true 1:30 scale. But, even if I am totally agree that there are smaller and taller soldiers, what about bigger FL ranges such napoleonic for example : 1:28 scale ?. And so that would...

I agree with tryfon. I am still convinced that FL WWII range is noticeably small in regard of all the other brands such William Britain, JJD, Team Miniatures, Thomas Gunn, King and Country, .... If it is a "true" 1:30 scale, so what about other FL ranges such napoleonic, Anglo-Zulu war and even...

Anglo-Zulu war : british figures size comparison

Here are some photos of Anglo-Zulu war british figures size comparison. From the biggest to the smallest : JJD, First Legion, William Britain, Thomas Gunn and Conte Collectible. But, in regard of Thomas Gunn, notice there are two different sizes : the "big" and the "medium".

    A Beautiful Panzer III

tmanthegreat, your compact display with FL PzKw III is attractive and depicts so well a very realistic "Kursk atmosphere".

Here are some photos side by side. Generally, WWII FL are noticeably smaller than Britain stuff. I added also an example in the same Normandy range with Waffen SS and german Fallschirmjäger.

Some remarks about the future Hetzer BB078

Tmanthegreat, about the JJD P-51D you had a lot of merit in telling the reality of things. I also see that mentalities have not evolved since because critical thinking is still not so appreciated in this forum. Effectively, it seems that the majority of collectors are systematically ecstatic...

Some remarks about the future Hetzer BB078

And you are absolutely right, enjoy yourself with this model !. But, IMHO, a little critical thinking is not useless in a discussion forum.

Some remarks about the future Hetzer BB078

Assignment unit is correct and camouflage painting scheme is well done and quite accurate. As usual with FL, weathering is very fine. But, according to historical sources and wartime photos, here are some remarks : - Hetzer #233 was abandoned and captured on the western front during the Autumn...

    A Beautiful Panzer III

Good initiative from FL in regard of metal tracks. This will undoubtedly be a very appreciable improvement compared to soft rubber tracks which are sometimes a little loose on the wheels of the tanks.

I prefer also bigger figures as Napoleonic range. The FL WWII figures are the smallest of all other brands and sometimes it is not obvious to mix them together.

    A Beautiful Panzer III

Yes Brian, perhaps. But replicas are rarely reliable sources. For example, the markings on the photo are not accurate : 1ère SS panzer division Leibstandarte and 2ème panzer division on the same tank !.

    A Beautiful Panzer III

Well seen, you raised an acuracy issue. Unfortunately, another variation of a model without doing complete historical research about it. Effectively, on all PzKwIII Auf N, Vorpanzer was not mounted on the turret front because of the increased weight of the gun mantle and 7,5 cm gun. All wartime...
