When it comes to weathering one can mask a great deal of defects and still add realism to the piece. The size difference is marked at close range but useful when developing a forced perspective. I try to pick what I like and there is always the fact that I like Andy and Brian so my money gets...

Other people have been using various stains because the price of the army painter dip is expensive. Results were about the same. Using inks and washes from vallejo or citadel seem to be the way to go. I have seen army painter videos and they make the whole thing look easy but I am going to keep...
This is a Monogram 1/48 OA-4M I built for a retired Marine. It represents a plane he worked on in the H&MS-12 "The Outlaws" squadron in the 1980's. I thought it came out pretty good. Not perfect but pretty good. This was a 30 year old kit.
So I did not do much weathering at all. Just a little hydraulic oil / carbon stuff per the owner The plane is or represents a OA-4M The Marines used in M&MS-12 The "00" number belongs to the commander.
