    new Releases 2009 plastic 1/32nd

AIP have more than just the cavalry sets coming in 2009. There will be some more Colonial sets and the first sets in a new period for them. Interestingly the latter will be a tie-in with a couple of metal makers ranges that AIP will be doing in plastic. The TSSD Plains Indian have already been...

    AIP New Releases

I don't know of any photos on the net yet. I need to photograph mine and when I have I will post them somewhere for people to see. Steve had them on display at the London Show last week, and they were getting a lot of attention.

    AIP New Releases

No one seems to have picked up on the 4 new mounted sets? They are British Cavalry On Campaign [Colonial c1880s], Mounted Russian Cossacks [Colonial-WWI], German Uhlans [1870s-WWI] and WWI British Lancers. They all follow the usual AIP pattern of 5 figures & 5 horses, the saddle and...

    New for 2009

'A very reliable source' has told me that ACTA have plans for some new releases next year, but he wouldn't say what, so I don't think they have 'gone under'. AIP have exciting plans for new stuff, both with additions to current ranges and returns to older ones.

    Imex mexican lancers

I have to say I share the general disappointment - the Imex figures have little to commend them, least of all the horses. The head on the horses is strangely elongated and too narrow, and the poses are awkward when you see them 'in the flesh', IMHO. If you want horses to mount other figures on...

    Long Shot

Fashoda Sorry to disappoint you but they were made by one of the guys running the game, Leigh Jackson, especially for the game. We needed some more sleds when we ran the game in the US at Historicon back in July, and so Leigh just scratch built some. They are very simple to make, especially if...

Should you wash your plastic figures?

We game with our figures, so they take a few knocks. We store then fairly carefully when carrying them around the country to games. This is what we recommend to people who ask 'How do you get the paint to stay on plastic figures?' at shows, the 2nd most popular question after - where do you get...

    Oryon Collection

The wholesaler in the UK, AB Gee tells me the Oryon Collection of painted 54mm and 1/35th is coming to an end. The gentleman who ran the range has retired and sold the brand name on. AB Gee, who handled the range in the UK, do not know who has bought them, nor whether the range will reappear.

What soldiers should be made in plastic?

The guys who want The Zulu War will have a wonderful 2009!

    Superdeetail plastics 2009

Unfortunately they have no plans to do so. They believe tooling costs etc would be too great to make it a commercially successful venture, which is a shame as the new paint jobs on the figures they do have transform them IMHO.

    hat industrie NEW FRENCH NAPOLEONICS

I have test sprues of 3 sets, Command, Carabiniers and Voltigeurs and they are excellent, IMHO. I had accumulated Airfix and other older makes for a Light Infantry Waterloo Group project but I will be switching to these guys now. The detail is crisp without being over sharp, and the plug on...
