Here is a Britain's Centurion Tank flanked by 4 poses of British Airborne. The Airborne figures are from the 1970s and represent soldiers from the 1960s or 1970s. They were also made with tan berets and labelled SAS.
This model tank was made from the late 1950s until 1970. The model tank...
Here is the actual film in it's entirety. If you want to see it I suggest clicking on the video and seeing it in its own window
, then click in the square in the lower right hand corner to view it in full screen:
Here is a 30 minute documentary on the Light Horsemen followed by a link to the film itself. I would click on the top of them and view them in full screen in another window.
This just came in yesterday. A King & Country Lighthorsemen Vickers machinegun team.
As mentioned, I am a big fan of the 1987 film The Lighthorsemen about the men of a World War I light horse unit involved in Sinai and Palestine Campaign's 1917 Battle of Beersheeba.
Thank you. It was my pleasure.
It has been interesting unpacking all all of these Britain's soldiers that I have managed to save from childhood.
When I first signed onto the board it looked like an enormous chore to photograph them. I have a few more that I will post in the near future.
And here is the picture of the howitzer that came with it. It had a spring in it and a rod in the back that you coild pull back and lock back or let go and fire. It was perfectly sized for firing small pieces of uncooked dried spaghetti.
Here is a picture of some Britain's Herald soldiers that were bought between 1971 and 1973. This picture shows the basic poses that came in the box. Typically there about 25-28 soldiers in a box with several examples of each pose. Some poses were more common than others. Also in the box was...
Here is a picture of a mixed box that I found someplace on my computer. These were Britain's Detail.
In this box it is British and German Soldiers, unlike mine which was German and US soldiers
Wow, this is getting long. I have almost all of my soldiers posted. Keep in mind that the Britain's painted plastic solders were bought when I was a kid between 5 and 13 or so years old back in the 1960s and 1970s and held onto and packed away.
Here are some Britain's Detail WWII US soldiers...
And of course, what would the French Foreign Legion be without Arabs to fight. I believe some of the French Foreign Legion came in a box that was half French Foreign Legion and half Arabs. Below are the pictures of the Arabs that came with them.
Here are some Britain's French Foreign Legion soldiers. I think I have about 50% more than shown in this photo, but this is the number fit well together. The ones not shown had the same basic poses as those chosen for the photo. The Gattling gun and two attached soldiers in the middle was...
Here is some pictures of Britains Marines in dress uniforms. The three on the left are supposed to be US Marines, while the ones on the right in helmets are supposed to be British Marines:
Back to some older Britains that I had. I dug these out of a box in my closet due to space limitations in my home.
I believe I bought a box of them in blue uniforms and a box in red uniforms in Madison square garden in NYC in the late 1960s.
At the time the Queens Guards came to town and put...
Here is what I bought: Britains Sudan War 27059 British 42nd Highland Officer Firing Pistol, Ludhiana Sikhs Regiment Kneeling Firing Rifle Soldier by King & Country, Two different Britain's Zulu War British 24th Foot, the kneeling soldier in the tan uniform is a King & Country Australian...
I bought myself an old childhood castle for nostalgia sake. It took quite a bit of work to identify it and then find it on Ebay.
It is just a childhood toy castle. It isn't tactically correct lacking corner towers or a gatehouse, and the size is a tad too small to accommodate the 54mm...
