    KING & COUNTRY Dispatches -- May 2021

Seems you don't want to give up. It is hard to respond to you without referring to the nature of some of the deletions. You probably saw my post that was deleted. Walsingham may be correct in some of his criticisms. However no producer could satisfy his high standards. K&C has produced more...

    On The Beach

Walsingham, I will just comment in the sequence of your comments. My views are definitely affected by being a dealer for 20 years. Just as yours have been by being a modeller. I will have you know that when I was 11 I was the Supreme commander of all sides in WW3. The war lasted for days...

Uh oh, I guess I will just have to call FOB143 Rasputins son when trying to sell him with Czar and family ^&grin

    On The Beach

Walsingham, I know very little about informs and equipment. I thought your comparison of a 95th rifleman with a Bren gun hilarious as a serious comparison in relation to minor details about WW2 figures. You spend much of your comments lamenting errors or omissions in the figures for the sandy...

The Grey one is cheaper and more practical Daughter ! But Dad this colour is Groovy !

Steve, Unfortunately the only green berets I have are on top of little British or French Commandos{sm4} I did connect her with a militaria business that sold berets and her husband is probably now wearing an Australian infantry beret which is pretty close in colour.

    KING & COUNTRY Dispatches -- May 2021

John, That is a useful photo for some collectors. Or a not so happy reminder of ones they don't have ! There seems to be a "phenomenon" that happens with casualty cavalry figures. For some strange reason they seem to retire first of the group. No idea if that means more popular or less made...

The Grey one is cheaper and more practical Daughter ! But Dad this colour is Groovy !

Just had ANZAC day here in Australia. I had a Vietnamese lady come in looking for a beret for her husband to wear in the parade. She showed me a photo of him and could see he served in South Vietnamese army. No surprise I pointed out the Vespa girl figures which brought a smile to her face. She...

    KING & COUNTRY Dispatches -- May 2021

John, I clearly remember when the original Scots Greys were released as I was in old shop. We are talking about 16 years ago. Not sure when they retired but quite a few years now. Have to confess I was one of the ones who asked Andy to re-release them. The reason being there are newer collectors...

Los Ultimos de Filipinas, The last men in the Philippines 1899

Another one on Netflix about same period is Heneral Luna. I am guessing you have watched it. My wife is from the Phillipines and got quite upset watching Luna. The manner of his death, by other Phillipinos whilst the war still going on, was not something she was taught at school ! Not the way...

Los Ultimos de Filipinas, The last men in the Philippines 1899

Great set up and blending with the Phillipines background:salute::. By co-incidence I recently watched the movie, 1898 (on Netflix) about that Spanish company that continued fighting at the Siege of Baler despite the war being over.

Hopefully this trend continues next year. Used to be very interested in the Oscars but now have no interest whatsoever. I prefer awards based on merit rather than other criteria. Used to help that I might have seen a movie or was planning to. "THE ACADEMY AWARDS---the 93rd Academy Awards...

    New Zealand Wars Dioramas

Incredible work and obviously a labor of love. Even more amazing is the variety of figures that depicts NZ history when I guess the subject is not that commercial. I hope he gets some Government grants for keeping NZ history alive.

    COVID the 3rd

Good to see President Biden showing Covid leadership by wearing his mask during online meeting with nearly 40 other world leaders. Despite having two vaccinations still have to be careful. On behalf of Australia I can report that our Prime Minister has also had his two vaccinations so no danger...

Credit must be given to Chris Hemsworth for his great role in bringing movie production and stars to Australia and creating plenty of jobs in the industry. Currently filming Thor here ( roles for Christian Bale, Matt Damon etc) and plenty of other movies going on. Hemsworth also got next Mad Max...

    The Capture on Netflix

Traffic holdup in Làng chó điên 1966

Interesting name for the village. Andy at one time had a pub called Mad Dogs. Good mix of brands.

No problem at all. I was not aiming at FL. Regarding price I get that people prefer to pay a lower price but using another brands work to achieve that is not acceptable. I think Matt might have expected a bit more support in that thread and you were one of the very few who understood the issue.

    Nobody

Spoiler Alert in reply to Mike's Spolier Alert. The Vietnam Veteran in the tattoo shop obviously recognised the cards. No idea if the cards mean anything in real life but in context of movie I took it to mean an Army Special Forces unit and his three letter agency would then have to be CIA who...

Sad to hear of his passing. Did not quite make it to 100. A great loss to the Queen, their family and the U.K.

I don't disagree with most of what you say. If people willing to pay FL price good on them. Same goes for buying a repainted KC. My point was more relating to Jazzeum than any dig at FL. I think you might be living in the distant past in relation to me never missing a chance to take a shot at FL...
