    Sneak peek

I hope that WARPARK is going to make an add-on set of gunners to make a full detachment, 7 gunners. They only have 3 loaders and an officer but need a layer, breech operator and the gun commander (NCO) to fire the gun. The officer isn't really needed on the gun platform. On Eastern Front John

This coming weekend I'll get on with the painting, now that it is undercoated and the harness organised. I've started on the figures first, then horse colours before detailing their harness. John

    The Atlantic Wall

Robin, How did the Germans manage to get that vehicle and the 2 guns into those gun positions on the wall? I didn't think they had helicopters in those days?? You may also need some cam-netting so the allies can't see them too! John

News Update September 22nd, 2025 - American War of Independence

It's great to see even more 'Guns & Gunners' coming :) I do like that John makes gunners in a variety of poses like the manoeuvring of the gun back onto the mark after firing, and not the 'usual' one of just standing gunners. Remember that these guns didn't have recoil systems and after each...

    Victorian era carriage

Today I have added the mudguards which come from the brass etched plates. Firstly they had to bent into the correct shape and then positions on the body of the carriage marked to be drilled to fit the mounting pins. Using those marks, a 1mm hole was carefully drilled. Then the mudguards dry...

    Victorian era carriage

This is another project I will be starting soon, a Victorian 4-wheel carriage. I have never heard of the maker, Historic Carriages, but it looks very much like the Phoenix range. The carriage is for a fellow local collector who I have done work before, and he found it 'somewhere on the net'...

    ROSE Miniatures Cavalry

Over the past couple of months, I have assembled and painted a few mounted cavalry kits by ROSE Miniatures that I obtained from an interstate deceased estate. There were about a dozen on offer, but only got about half of them in eras I particularly was interested in. The first is XX125 French...

    Gun position

Great setup, I do like the added detail of the infantry group 'at rest' before the fire mission and the Command Post with signaller and Officer, well done. I still think that Tom should add a couple more gunners, especially the layer and breech operator, but they may come as an 'add on'...
