Yes I'm referring to the muffler that was part of the turret traverse motor. This is an Ausf. H. An Ausf. J would not have that it would be removed.

I'm referring to the turret traverse motor mounted to the left of the exhaust.

Couldn't you tell because of the Turret traverse gear box next to it?

Thanks Terry, So you are saying it's possible that the exhaust was a retrofit on ausf. H panzer iv's? Have you any pictures or know of any?

Does anyone know of a panzer iv Ausf. H with the flammentöter exhaust? Or a Ausf. J having the Turret traverse motor installed? Thanks Corey
