I agree the seated figure has a different "look" than the distinctive Marlborough style. As to the Grenadier Guards, they were available as a single figure - C57 - in Marlborough's Individual Range. Marlborough were very good at making up custom orders from collectors, too.

The figure you posted is one of the two Aides-de-Camp in that set, not an officer. That style of horse has become known as the ADC horse when used with other heads, as in the postwar version of set 28's officer.

Victor, are you going to be altering the Wolseley pattern helmets? That style of pith helmet was not introduced until 1899, a year after Omdurman. The 21st wore the Colonial pattern at the time of the battle.
