2019 Lawrence Lo Memorial New York Toy Soldier Symposium (1 Viewer)

Considering the size of your collection, that's a major accomplishment. I need to do the same with mine {eek3}

I hope you all have a great time. Unfortunately, my nagging injuries make going difficult, but I will see.

For those who haven't gone before, you all will have a great eye-opening time.

How true, it is a great event and the food is always as good as the collection! seriously, if you have never seen the collection , you are in for a real treat! I am sorry I am missing it this year, enjoy!

I'm sorry to hear about your injuries, and hope you feel better soon, my friend. By the way, could you please extend an invitation to Harvey Hammer. I would love to see you both.

Just finished the alcohol shop for the weekend:

For the Whiskey drinkers, I added 12 year old Glen Morangie Scotch and 12 year old Single Malt Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey to my usual selection of everything from Johnnie Walker Blue to 18 Year Old Single Malt Jameson Cabinet Select.

For other hard liquor drinkers, I have a nice selection of rums, vodkas, and gins.

For the red wine drinkers, I chose Bertani Amarone, Stags Leap Artemis and an Australian Cabernet called "Mollydooker - The Maitre'd" to what I already had on hand. For white wine drinkers, I have a nice selection of Chardonnets, Rieslings and Moscatos (desert wine).

For you beer drinkers, you can choose from Sam Adams Boston Lager, Heineken, Heineken Light, and Stella Artois.

Alright gentlemen, the opening dinner is 4 days away! I am really looking forward to this weekend. I am especially looking forward to seeing friends I only see once or twice a year, like George (Warrior) Chris (Currahee Chris), Steven Chong, Ken and Erika Osen and Mike Tarrantino. If everybody shows up and has a good time, then all of the effort and expense of setting this up will be totally worth it.:salute::

Is anybody who is coming to the Friday dinner passing Newark Airport? One of the attendees is flying in to Newark and could use a ride. Thanks in advance!:smile2:

The Symposium starts tomorrow! Send me an e-mail or PM if you need my address or directions.:salute::

I wish you all a nice symposium
and hope to be there again.
greetings from the Netherlands

Richard,

I would love it if the European contingent rejoined us.^&cool^&cool You could bring the Nevilles, Clive and Kevin from Great Britain, Fred and Thierry from France . . . those early Symposia were great fun!:salute::

The first of the out-of-town guests arrived in New York this evening, and Ken and Erika Osen will be on their way at 9:00 a.m. My lovely wife is busy cooking, and I am working on the last job I need to get out before the weekend. I took a few minutes to look out photos posted on this forum by Brad (Jazzeum) after the 2010 Symposium. Brad, I know you are dealing with some nagging injuries, but it just won't be the same without you.:smile2:

Wishing you and your guests a great weekend :salute::

Steve

Final preparations were completed . . .

Tom,

We kept the Huskies outside for most of the evening, but they managed to get into the dining room for dessert.:rolleyes2:{sm4}

Sorry I couldn't make it Louis, hope y'all have a great weekend.

Well, today we had lunch at my house, then took a ride over to Rich's (NYSoldiers) amazing collection, then off to the American Armor Museum, before returning to my house for dinner. Along the way good friend Kevin Elliott (Panda1gen) joined us by phone, and to top it all off, Ken and Erika Osen presented me with a lovely gift. Here are some photos from today:
