I am planning to do a Great Siege of Malta diorama set in 1565. I have started assembling the soldiers from each side.

The area I plan to replicate is the fierce fighting around Fort St. Elmo.

To get some enjoyment as I plan this ambitious project I did setting the soldiers out to create a little vignette:

On the left are figures from FL's Tercio, Landsknechts, Swiss Mercenaries and JJD's Columbus line.

They are defending a breach in one of the improvised outer defenses erected after word of the invasion was detected by the Knights of St. John's excellent intelligence network.

Of course, the FL Turks are perfect for this project:

They storm the breach trying to penetrate into the main fortress.

Can already envisage an intense battle scene full of colour and spectacle. Bring it on. Robin.

Great to see that mixture of figures in the setup.

I do like those FL Ottoman figures, I think I should drag out my stash (abt 6) Tradition figures and give then a 'lick of paint', but they will not look this good !!!

Looks superb. I assume you meant JJD’s Conquest of America line. I’ve found that FL’s Spanish and JJD’s figures go very well together.

You have quite the intense battle scene going. As other have said, they all go together very well. Look forward to more.

Anyone have suggestions on more Turks or Turk-like figures? Any Saracens work for them? Inquiring minds want to know!

Correct! And thanks for the help building the collection!

Hmm… I would like to see what you do with them.

Looks great Larry, thanks for sharing, looking forward to seeing the finished product................
