Hi Guys,
Here are two of the final setups of this amazing diorama before it is sent off to its happy owner in another part of Asia.
‘CHATEAU DE DUNKERQUE’ illustrates the desperate days of May 1940 as the German ‘Blitzkrieg’ sweeps through France and threatens British and French forces retreating towards the channel coastal port of Dunkirk (Dunkerque).
Alongside the weary soldiers are hordes of civilian refugees trying to flee the rapidly advancing ‘Boche’.
‘RETURN TO NORMANDY’ tells a happier tale... The Allies, British, Canadian and American have landed and are attempting to make their way inland.
As they move forward they begin to ‘liberate’ towns, villages and farms along the way. Here is just one example... Elements of the British 11[SUP]th[/SUP] Armoured Division are ‘consolidating’ their position unaware of the deadly presence of some German tanks in a nearby field.
Well, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
All the best and... Enjoy!
Andy
