Hi Guys,

Here is the ‘FIRST LOOK’ at a major long-awaited addition to K&C’s ‘VIETNAM WAR’ range of figures and fighting vehicles.

Due for release in a few months time, the M48A3 Battle Tank will be an essential part of any ‘Vietnam’ collection.

Earlier this week we finished the ‘Master Painting’ of our two versions of this particular tank… The ‘Witch *****’ and ‘Mad Dogs’.

Unfortunately, I can’t give you a final price just yet… but it will be competitive and, I believe, worth every penny!

Here are 3 x photos of the model showing it ‘in action’ with some of our ‘Grunts’ in support.

Unlike the new Tiger this particular model is ‘mixed media’… a combination of resin, polystone and zinc metal similar to our more recent Centurions and T55s.

When available it will come in its own custom designed, full colour box and includes a tank commander figure plus a ‘head & shoulders’ driver.

In addition, the commander’s hatch on the turret can open and close while his .50 cal. machine gun can elevate and depress.

Meanwhile, the main gun is fixed forward and the driver’s hatch is fixed open.

On that cheerful note… Enjoy the photos and look forward to this great fighting machine!

All the best and happy collecting,
Andy

P.S. As most of our K&C fighting ‘Vietnam’ figures are Marines, both of our M48s are U.S.M.C.

Impressive, can see it being a big seller, I am looking forward to seeing the dioramas depicting the urban fighting shown in the film Full Metal Jacket.

Yes FMJ is one of the great Vietnam War films and look forward to seeing more FMJ inspired dioramas with K&C's great looking M48's

Here's a couple of pics I did from a few years ago, though obviously using a different makers M48, first being my take on a famous photo from Battle of Hue and other based on a scene in FMJ.
So yes looking forward to seeing what others come up with for their dioramas featuring the K&C M48 when it's released.

A couple of different M48 Patton tanks. Nice! I haven't collected this series, but with the introduction of these tanks, my mind has changed. {sm4}

That new M48 looks awesome! I’ve had the TCS version for a few years and have always liked it, but the K&C model looks like it takes the cake. It’s very, very tempting for sure.

I was not going to mention this but since you mentioned that the K&C model takes the cake.
I prefer my FL M-48. I am not saying that it is better, it is just a matter of personal preference.

I would imagine the FL M48 is the best one out there and looks amazing in person! I’ve only ever seen pics of that model as it was long sold out before I got into collecting the premium metal toy soldiers… lI’ve got the new FL M113 APCs and they are exquisite.

when I started collecting the Vietnam ranges several years ago, the TCS M48 was the only version of that tank easily available, so that was what I go. It’s a good model and scales well with either the TCS or K&C figures, just the new K&C model looks even better, IMHO

What a pair of beasts! Vietnam is outside of my collecting interests, but I'm looking forward to seeing other collectors' dioramas with these tanks.

I'll be selling my FL M48. I'll be picking up the KC version(s) later this year.

With exception for the recent FL M113, it seems that FL abandoned the VN War.

Andy hasn't. I have many, many of KC's releases in this war. Including both Gun Trucks and will be picking up their 2.5 trucks in the future.

Just my opinion to each their own.

I do like and have Collector Showcase helicopters and their M113 and love them too.

Thankyou Carlos for that terrific ‘vote of confidence’ and thanks to all you other guys for you enthusiasm for this great
looking tank.

While we were still at the discussion stage I almost wanted to do the M41’Walker Bulldog’ such as Kubrick used in Full Metal Jacket…The movie managed to get 3x M41s from the Belgian Army on loan for the battle scenes however I also am a big fan of the M48.
So, in the end we decided on the M48, ultimately I think we made the right historical decision.
As far as I know only the ARVN used ‘Walker Bulldogs’ but they really looked great in the movie!

All the best,
Andy.

Great looking tank! Surely a great add on to my VN collection. Looking forward for its early release...and for the M35 cargo truck that was also earlier announced. Any ETA on these items?

BTW most M48 I've seen on photos have and add-on devise mounted on the turret at the base of the gun barrel. The CS version had that. What is the purpose of that?

Do you mean the Searchlight ?
