Hi Guys,
After checking in with TREEFROG as usual this morning I saw Steve’s (Horus) latest pic featuring a couple of our Israeli paratroopers and it inspired me to put together a little scene displaying a few more of our IDF (Israeli Defence Forces) figures and fighting vehicles.
The ‘story’ behind the photo is this… Shortly after the end of the Yom Kippur War of 1973 Israeli authorities receive a ‘tip-off’ about a shipment of arms and ammunition that has been delivered to a small village in the West Bank. The weapons are clearly intended for one of several Palestinean terrorist groups operating in the area.
The local and nearest I.D.F. unit is quickly tasked to raid the village and seize the weapons before they can be hidden or spirited away to another location.
Here you can see the Israeli paras have cordoned off part of the village and seized a large haul of assorted weaponry including automatic rifles, AK47’s mortar ammunition, short range rockets still in their tubes and even an M60 machine gun!
As the raid takes place just after dawn only a few of the village residents are up and about.
Also seen in this photo is a little pre ‘Dispatches’ look at the early December release of our latest ‘Desert Village’ structure, ‘The Desert Manger’.
As you can see this very useful building can be used in many different display or diorama settings requiring a typical Middle Eastern structure. It can also be used in variety of different historical eras.
So, a very flexible release!
Best wishes and happy collecting,
Andy
P.S. In the wee small hours of this Saturday 25 November I will be heading to Europe and a series of shows and ‘meet ‘n’ greets in Milan, Paris, London and Stuttgart. I am looking forward to meeting some of our best K&C dealers in each country as well as many of ourloyal collectors. This is our first such trip to Europe since 2019.
See some of you soon!!!
