Hi Guys,
My compliments to “DM101” and his excellent photography…his images are always crystal clear and pin sharp — Thank you for all your hard work.
Re “Figures for a Chinese Junk” …I agree some coolies loading and unloading as well as a couple of nautical types would not go amiss…The problem, as usual, is (are) too many other things to do and being “hijacked” onto other more urgent figure requirements. Apologies to one and all and thankyou again for bringing it back to “center stage!”
“Surrender of Singapore” has always been one of my favorite historical subjects…How almost 120,000 British and Empire forces were beaten by half that number of Japanese! Of course, it helps if you have almost total control of the air and sea plus you have an aggressive, well-led and battle experienced army that also has tanks and plenty of bicycles!!!
One of these days I would love to explore that campaign…toy soldier wise!
And then there’s our old mate Kevin (Panda1gen)…Another outstanding documentary photographer of K&C and our work over the last 30 years…Many, many thanks Kev…and stay well!
Finally, Kudos also to one more fine photographer…Frank (fmethorst)…His work on the First Legion site is simply stunning! Very well done and congratulations to all of these photographic artists!
Best wishes,
Andy C.
