“RUMOURS…REBUTTALS…AND REFERRALS” - A Post from Andy Neilson
Here is a message from Andy Neilson.

Dear One and All,
“RUMOURS…REBUTTALS…AND REFERRALS”
Just as I was sitting down to my early morning bowl of raisin bran (with extra fibre and fruit) I almost choked on a fibre… ”Rumour on the street is K&C are going to produce a new landing craft and… a repainted ‘88! ”
1) Sorry to disappoint you lads but the rumour did not come from any street I live on. Definitely no plans exist to do either. To be honest there’s much too much other stuff already in the pipe line PLUS a queue (English for a “line”) a mile long of other items I (and most of you) want K&C to produce before these two particular items reappear.
2) Warbuff 26’s comparison between the price of SP14 (Berlin Tenement) and Frontline’s proposed Normandy Village is a fair one. While he’s at it why doesn’t he compare the price of Frontline’s tanks (all four of them) with K&C’s. He’ll also find them cheaper than ours Mmmmm.
What does Mmmmm mean,
Answers on a postcard to….
3) Referrals Last night while still digesting my raisin bran and Warbuff 26’s perceptive comments I decided to look up “BILL MILLIN” on the web. Bill Millin was Lord Lovat’s bagpiper on D. Day and also played himself in “The Longest Day”.
Imagine to my surprise a wealth of information and sites referring to this famous Scotsman. Check out the following : -
A) NPR Scotland’s Bill Millin
B) World War Two In The Highlands. This is a fantastic site funded by British Telecom and the Children of an Inverness Primary School in Scotland – really interesting.
C) BBC NEWS / Scotland
4) Point of Interest : When K&C did our model of Bill Millin, of course, I watched “The Longest Day” again. In the movie Bill is wearing normal British Army Battledress and Trousers. And that’s how we produced him. It seems in actual fact Bill did indeed wear Battledress above the waist but a KILT below. When the time comes to “redesign” this popular figure I promise to redo Bill in his kilt!
Best wishes and… happy collecting to the Band of Brothers!
Andy
