Is K & C 1/30 or 1/32. Thought it was 1/30 but the blurb on my box for WS079 says 1/32?

Why would the Hummel be listed as 1/32 ? I mean, size wise, it is 1/32, but all K/C WW2 is advertised and supposed to have a 1/30 footprint...I would prefer consistency in my same scale vehiles, even among the different mfg.Michael

I guessed all the world war 2 series was 1/30 or 60mm so I was surprised to see on the side of the K&C box for the Hummel (ws79) a blurb saying it was 1/32 range.
Is this a misprint?

I’m just wondering in relation to other lines whether the below list is roughly correct in relation to WWII gear
1/30—60mm
Collector's Showcase, Del Prado, Hachette, Honour Bound, New Model Army, Figarti, HJB, Patriot Models

1/32---54mm = 2 and 1/4 inches
Conte, East of India, Forces of Valor, Frontline, The Old Northwest Trading Company

Thats not 100% true - there are many WWII K&C Figures that are 1/32 Scale - sometimes it is very frustrating to build dioramas with the swing between 54mm and 60mm.

K and C World War II are supposed to be in 1/30. However, sometimes some of them are closer to 1/31.

The others:

Collector's Showcase - They're moving to 1/30 but it seems more like 1/28.

Del Prado - A little bigger.

Hachette - Don't have any so don't know.

Honour Bound - 1/30

New Model Army - 1/30

Figarti - A true 1/32. However, they are now moving to 1/30.

HJB - Surprised you mentioned them as they only had a small number of issues. Anyway, they were 1/32.

Patriot Models - Their World War II items are bigger than 1/30. Maybe 1/29.

Brad

I disagree - the Desert Vickers (EA16) is 1/32 - its one of the reasons why I dont collect the entire EA range. I bought that set along with the "alex" (EA11) and it really put me off by the size difference - I ended up selling both.

Also the Summer Panzer (Panther Ausf. G) WS72 - is very close to 1/32 as well.

I'm sure Andy, if he opined on the issue, would disagree. I don't get too worked up about it. I have all the EA and love them all, size uniformity or not.

Will you/have you added the LRDG to your collection Brad?.I really like this range and its going to be competing with Arnhem for my money.

Rob

Rob,

I'm in the process of adding them. So far, I have EA 17, EA 18, EA 20 (getting for my birthday), EA 21, EA 23 and EA 25. The rest I'll probably pick up at the New Jersey show in November. George G. is also making me a sand board for one of my shelves so that I can show all the new LRDGs.

The African campaign (both Commonwealth forces and Axis forces) are the two ranges I love the most where I want to get everything. I could see one day selling off pieces of the other WW II ranges I have but not these.

I have the hummel crew a few months now I didn't realise they were smaller
(do my shelling from a table distance away!)
Just put them up against some of the other germans . They are quite comical up against the russians and the d-day gang- as they are all in white and remind me of oompa-loompas, but not quite that small.
Nevertheless it is a great set, is there a list anywhere of the sizes, or is most of the Armour 1/32 .
Bill Sagers site is fantastic for looking over the old issues. I've been collecting mainly the soldiers and have just started on the armour and fancy some hardware rumbling past the berlin tenement with the 'beefy' German defenders.

Brad that was just my opinion - but, I was disappointed by the different sizes in the two sets - it didnt work for the scene I was building.

I like the new LRDG sets - are they 1/30 or 1/32 ??

Well - I dont know how you disagree when you stand the two sets together they are dramatically different.

This is coming from a loyal K&C fan - so dont tag me as some nay sayer - there is a difference and it makes a difference to me.

One thing to bear in mind is that the size of soldiers is not going to be uniform because people are not all the same size so manufacturers tend to vary that a little bit. For example, there were some complaints that the figure (EA 17) of David Stirling of the Long Range Desert Group was too big. However, Andy made him that way on purpose becase Major Stirling was a very tall man at 6 foot 6 inches tall.

Was General Alexander 8ft 2in ?? Because thats how he looked next to the Desert Vickers

I must say the EA has really grown on me over the last year or so.Until then i collected D-Day and the Bulge, but just couldn't resist collecting these too.Am looking forward to comparing K&C LRDG with Figarti LRDG.Should be interesting.

I'm not saying I do but Andy might. For me, it's just not a big deal.

So are we saying the Figarti 1/30 LRDG truck would fit better with the K&C 8th army than the K&C version?

Well of course he will – Andy is the manufacturer with $ at stake – is that even relevant to this discussion? I’d rather just hear different collector’s views on the matter, thanks. For me, K&C scale consistency seems pretty good, so I agree with the second part of your statement Brad - of course I mainly collect their figures not their vehicles, and I don't have many of the Eighth Army stuff where a lot of these scale issues seem to creep up.

 You Guys have to tell Andy, about these sizes! Yes it does seem , that this Sculpture is 'Scrimping' on the Production, and telling Andy these are 1/30th Scale and NOT 1/32nd ; but their is something "Fishy", and I know its NOT Totally 1/30th Scale, on ALL of K & C Production! This was my Beef with K & C ALL along! If this Problem Persist ,I may go with another Toy Company, who makes 1/30th Scale and Nothing Less in Size! We're Paying Customers for these Productions, and you should get 'What you Want' in the Scale Sizes!
