I asked this question a while back in relation to 1/32 modern small arms, and was kindly pointed in the direction of HR Products.
Does anyone know of any manufacturer / supplier of 1/30 (ish) scale weapons for WWII to present day?
Vehicle mounted Brownings, rifles, SMGs, assault rifles etc?
Not to worried about the material used, but seem to be struggling to locate anyone doing these.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Cheers

I don't know of any but it would be a great hobby/business idea for some of our more talented members to make some weapons and gear for us to add to tanks etc.

The only product I have found is specific to german WWII, Prieser makes a package of german WWII weapons and gear. It's pretty difficult to locate, there supposed to be 1/24, but there very close to the K&C equipment. I've used it in dioramas and figure conversion.

Thanks Ray, I'll keep an eye out for them and see if I can't pick a set up.

Can't help but think, like Oz says, that there's not a lost business opportunity here.

I agree Simon, I've suggested in the past to K&C and now to any of the newer companies on the market that grouping some Axis and Allied weapons packs would surely sell.
PS I got my preiser sets out of germany, you might have a little easier access to sites there.

That's one of the problems when a manufacturer goes off the reservation and "invents" a new scale. I like the 1/30 stuff from K&C, Honour Bound, Figarti, etc. HOWEVER most manufacturers and aftermarket suppliers are oriented to the larger markets of 1/35th, 1/48th and 1/72nd. Even 54mm/1/32nd scale has some extra material available, but 1/30 hasn't been a bigdeal long enough to get the aftermarket really fired up. I agree that extra weapons and accessories would be nice to have available. We could use someone who is good at resin casting, then we coupld all contribute "masters" to be cast and sold. We might also need a poll or survey about the desired items. For instance I might want M1 rifles and jerry cans but 100 others might want Napoleonic muskets - so guess what gets made first. The market can be fickle. Some guys may not buy the accessories unless they come in a box that says King & Country, others won't care. If I knew anything about the casting process it would be fun to try.

Simon,
This was the kind of thing I was thinking about around one year ago when I suggested that K&C might consider offering alternative heads, separate bases, weapons packs, etc. I think this would be a winner for those of us who would like some alternatives to the standard figures and have no interest in selling items on from our collections.
For those who have reservations regarding buying items on e-bay that are possibly not as per the original figures - well, too bad Bubba, it's up to you to ascertain what you're buying.

:) OK, PREISER 1/24th Scale Plastic Weaponry , is still being made! I use them on my 1/25th Scale Tamiya Germans; They fit quite well with the 1/30th Scale Figures! Their isn't any other Manufaturer's, that makes 1/30th Scale Weaponry!

I managed to track a couple of places in the States that sell the German sets, so I've got a couple of sets winging their way back over the Atlantic. Thanks again Ray for the heads up on this set.

Just need to keep my eye out for anything 'Allied' looking in 1/30ish, or modern small arms.

I got some 1/24 scale weapons with a Collectors Showcase diorama and IMO they are WAY to big for 1/30 scale figures

Oz,
Don't know about CS but heres some preiser comparisions.
The MP is Dead on, the Kar is a tad long but nothing a good file couldn't adjust, the panzerfaust is larger but once again adjustments to the stock length and a little filing can make it very close for use with figures and as a item on a truck, you might not even notice. the Patato masher is a bit long but I think the K&C version is too short to begin with.
All in all I think theres no doubt the detail is superior in the preiser versions and they size is a very workable thing. what do you think?

Ray, those Preiser weapons look pretty close, I guess the FOV weapon sets would be close as well.

Thanks for the comparison shots Ray. Looks bang on.
I've got some of the FOV add on sets and they're definately in the 1/32 scale territory, some verging towards 1/35. Too small (IMO) for 1/30 unfortunately.

After actually putting a FOV Panzershrek against the K & C version I have to agree  Honest, it looked big enough when viewed by itself ;)

Just got 3 sets of the Prieser weapons delivered today. Really quick delivery from the States.
Ray, thanks aain for the recommendation, just the job.
Shame they only do the German WWII set, but I'll keep my eye out for other possible solutions.

Glad to be of assistance, like I said, not perfect but very workable especially if used off of figures as the slight variation in size is less noticable.
Preiser at one time was going to do a line of WWII russian figs. in that same scale, perhaps they'll reconsider in the future and we might see Russian weapons and maybe some lend lease equipment.

Simon,
Which dealer did you order your Prieser sets from?
