16/5th Lancer toy soldier (1 Viewer)

I made this prototype toy soldier many years ago. A single body casting with separate head and 2 lugs for arm attachment. The tuba was a separate casting.

What I did was to mount the toy soldier onto a wooden base for stability and am now working on it to improve the figure. You can see some putty being added to the body.

I've almost completed the putty reshaping of this figure. A little more touchup and I can start painting.

Here's an undercoat of red paint. But I think there are some touchups required here.

Touchup done. I just have to reattach the head and I can start final painting.

I substituted a left hand and resculpted the cuff.

I've finished painting this figure, awaiting a final coat of gloss varnish.
