Here are the 17 th Light Dragoons, also known as the "Death's Head". While assigned to Tarleton, they refused to wear the green coats of the British Legion. The 17 TH fought bravely at Cowpens, unlike the British Legion who fled the field.
In the first 17 TH photo, the trooper on the white horse (holding his hand to his face), has been shot. Check out the blood on his shirt!
