Napoleon started the Egypt campain in 1798 and almost one year after he created the " regiment des dromadaires" on january 1799 as he understood that dromedars are strong and they can walk for 60 km without food and water. This regiment was used for carring the supplies and to calm down the rebel villeges on the way to Palestine....
