1804 cutlass/NELSONS NAVY (1 Viewer)

Not alot....2 naval cutlasses, 2 brown besses, British Royal Navy Officers sword, volunteer fusil, french calvary pistol, 1803 British Officers sword, 1796 British calvary sword...lots of artillery shells, and relics from British ships...etc...very hard to find and expensive...really its a rich mans game....rich is NOT what I am...I just do without alot!!

Great collection, Wellington!:cool: I also like to mix the real memorabelia with my toy soldiers, as it makes for a very interesting display.

Wow, I've never heard of a cast iron grip before. Thank you for the info. Again, very nice piece!
 
All 1804 cutlasses and many prior too were cast iron...

If you look at "materials"...you will see it says cast iron.

Here is one for sale in England as we speak...scroll down its the third from the top...click on and enlarge the pics...to get a better view....1804 cutlasses were the sword that the British used in the War of 1812 and Napoleonic Wars including Trafalgar...although crude....a very real weapon used by the Royal Navy...most were assigned to their perspective ships and were handed out to the men for han to hand combat...they belonged to the ship not the men...British Property.
