I found this Sears Wish book Ad last Night and thought I would share.
In 1970 I was 10 years old and wanted it desperately . Reminds me of the Movie with the kid and the Red rider BB gun.
It was and remains the favorite gift ever.Fond memory of getting up Christmas morning way before dawn and this Huge Boxed playset from Germany was waiting in front of the lit Christmas tree and the radio was still on low playing Choir songs. I had it built before Light and was happily playing with the Swoppet Knights when my Father came out to light a fire and make coffee, looked at me, shook his head and staggering back to bed.
My Mom indulged my toy soldier and creative traits.Dad, not so much. The great Depression forced him to work at a young age, no toys .
For some reason, this has always been my all time favorite Family /toy soldier moment and finding this ad brought it all back for a few moments.
