Today I received some of the new released 1st Foot Guards musicians and would like to share some pictures here. These are figures of amazingly fine finish and I just picked them also in the other thread as my favorite Britains figures. Here are some pictures that will hopefully explain my excitement about them. Shown here is a little band I made up and during the next days I will add some more pictures when I display this band together with the Grenadiers and other figures from that series.
Hope you like them.
It will look even better once the announced bandmaster will be released. Looking forward to add him.
Konrad

Konrad: Nice pictures of the new Britain's musicians. I only got a few but you have a nice selection of figures making a larger display. John

Now those do look very nice :) Are they sold individually? or in sets of fifer & drummer?

I had to weigh in here for a minute - my days at Britains are never dull and always a fun challenge - most are spent doing a variety of tasks from new figure briefs, shows, marketing material development and my absolute favorite spec sheets and financial spread sheets - yippeeee!

So a few months ago when everyone from Ken to Ted Deddens and Dave Youngquist was bleary eyed from painting and sculpting around the clock, I had a great opportunity to do something I really love, paint. Ted Deddens, never the fool, was jammed with painting up the Redcoats and Bluecoats so we talked and decided that I could help by painting two of the more difficult Redcoats we had on deck at the time - the British Fifer and Drummer 1st Foot Guards, 1754-1763. I spent the next few days buried in red, yellow and blue until I could not see straight from painting fine blue lines within fine yellow lines - multiple times up and down the sleeves, on the back, around the pockets etc. It was painful but rewarding. I must say I had a great time and was really happy with how they turned out (Ken's sculpting admittedly makes painting these a pleasure).

And in conclusion I am happy you guys seem to like them too - thanks!

You did a mighty fine job with the musicians, Richard, and along with Ken, Dave, Ted and the Britains stuff you created a wonderful new line of traditional style Toy Soldiers, the Redcoats, Bluecoats and the FIW.
Hope it is very successful so we can see many more releases.

Here are some more pictures of the 1st Foot Guards. Here the Fife and Drum band is playing for the Grenadiers who are on parade in front of their barracks.

Very nice kogu, you're building up quite the army aren't you?

Can I ask where you got the houses from?

Thank you. I always wanted to build a larger "ceremonial" scene with traditional Toy Soldiers. Now with the FIW series here I found the right stuff and will see what I can add to the scene in the future.
The buildings are from Barzso. They made a 18th century stone fort a few years back, which is now sold out, but the barracks are still available as single items on their website.

Thanks for the info Konrad.

I am currently working on a ceremonial scene myself although set in more recent times. :D

Keep up the good work.

Konrad,

Excellent display you have there, these new Britains are certainly some of the best glossies on the market today.

Jeff

Thank you Jeff,
I agree, the quality of these figures will be hard to beat.
When setting up today I guess I got a little bit too excited ;) and forgot to put the Grenadier's NCO in the picture.
He will show up in future pictures.
Konrad

Looks like they are waiting for the new drum major (47005) to show up...
Ken

That's right, Ken

the band is a bit out of tune without the drum major but they will keep practicing until he arrives accompanied by the mounted officer.

To the whole Britains stuff: Excellent work !!!
