2008 Spring Supplement (2 Viewers)

Yes Dick,
We have had some discussions about adding to these ranges as single Redcoats, but in poses like we did for the Classic Gloss Zulu War range so far.
There is a part of me that would like to keep the 'high action' poses to the Matt ranges and stay within firing, advancing and drill poses for the short term. Much like we did with set #43126 Scots Fusiliers Firing Line set #1... both of these could have been single figure offerings like #43142 British Grenadier 45th Regt of Foot 1754-1763. This along with more casual poses should round things out a bit.
What do you think?
Ken

I was hoping to see some expansion of the Russian firing line or the Russian artillery line. But I can wait.

thanks
Dick

That's a very good question. I like the lively high action poses made for the matte ranges, and indeed like the matte ranges: these poses are part of the attraction for Britains matte figures . I also understand that a classic glossy soldier looks good in classic poses, mostly out of tradition. But I also believe a glossy soldier can look excellent even with high action poses:p. Personally I would have a display space for FIW classic marching poses, to display FIW types/regiments and another for action poses ( high or not high:D) , with some fighting going on;).
FIW matte? That would be fine with me, if they have the Napoleonic Coldstream Guards quality, for instance. But it would also be fine with me to have FIW gloss figures in action poses ( high or not ). I accept and like an option that would make Britains hallmark to do high action poses in matte and more traditional poses ( including firing and loading, etc. ) in gloss, provided I can have the above displaying spaces. Pretty confusing, right?:p. Just my personal opinion, hope it's clear enough and would like to hear others on this.
Regards,
Paulo

Here's an illustration from the Osprey MAA book on the Grenadier Guards illustrating the 2 Sudan figures in WB's upcoming releases. It would be great to have the one from the 1882 Egyptian campaign as well.
