Hi All!
Ericka and I just returned from the 2009 NY Symposium...What a great time!
There were both old friends and new ones present each day. The four sponsors did a wonderful job and made everyone feel welcomed.
Ericka and I had just enough time between the West Coaster and the Symposium to finish the four small dioramas we gave to the sponsors in thanks for their hospitality.
I thought I would share a couple of images with you.
Each of the dioramas were 14" X 17" and were in a finished driftwood frame. A cobblestone road runs from corner to corner with damaged walls and a destroyed building.

Here is another image of the diorama with a couple of my favorite K&C Heer figures walking through another small village ravaged by war.

These four dioramas featured our H&A Stone Walls and our Urban Debris. We built the remains of an interior wall with damaged plaster and lath for some interest at the rear of the scenes.

Here is my favorite, and the last image of the two tired Heer infantry trudging to the front. We also used some of our H&A French Commercial signs to add some colour.

Again we wish to thank everyone for a great time in NY!
All the Best!

The pictures don't do justice to Ken and Ericka's work. I think they may have gotten a few new customers;)

The dioramas, like all of Ken and Erika's work, are unbelievable. I am so honored and thankful to Ken and Erika for the incredibly generous gift, and, without letting any cats out of bags, I ordered another amazing diorama piece Ken and Erika told me about, sight unseen, based on their amazing work on this one, and Ken previous efforts on a nearly identical theme.:cool:

Truly remarkable work Ken and Erika! I have already set up two of the three diorama pieces I picked up from Erika and Ken during room trading at the Westcoaster. They are stunning and add whole new level of realism to my little shelf scenes. I will post pics soon so I can them off! Looking forward to the next BIG release both Ken and Erika mentioned at the Westcoaster. I'm looking forward to adding more of your work to my collection! Thanks again! :)

Louis- Ken told me all about it too! I can't wait to see it! No one sculps structures like Ken! And I love the H & A line; picked up several items at the Westcoaster including Erika's amazing scenic work and Ken's wonderfyl painted foam ruin w/ a bag of debris! Just wonderfully creatuve stuff that really opens up new avenues! :D

Joe,

Ken is among the most talented and knowledgeable folks in the hobby, and his wife Erika is so knowledgeable about period textiles and dress (having curated a museum on the subject) that the combination makes for the most realistic and wonderful products.

Through Britains, Ken and Erika are releasing a Jane Austin "Pride and Prejudice" series, with buildings to make the town adjacent to Pemberly, starting with the Inn, and I preordered the whole thing as a gift for my wife, a big Pride and Prejudice fan. There stuff is just amazing!

:)Louis, I sae the Inn in the new Britians catalog, and it certainly is top of the line. I will almost certainly pick one of those up, and I'm anxious (can you tell!) to see what other structures they will be adding to the P & P series. I hope the series does well; it is a fantastic idea to build an entire line around P & P. Oh, and case I forget to mention it, congratulations on becoming the proprietor of such a fine H & A diorama piece! It certainly is a beauty, and like all of Ken and Ericka's creations, a lot of thought and passion went into their origin. As promised here are some picks of a few of my 6 x 24 barnwood shelf dioramas. I just purchased the ground cover grass matts at the Westcoaster from Mark of Buildarama and you can see Ericka's beautiful work on the scenic set pieces that draw all the attention! I still need to trim up the edges of the incredibly versatile grass matts, but otherwise these little dioramas are finished. That is, until I get the bug to start moving things around again! But I must say, I'm very happy with the way all the different elemenst have come together here. Please let me know what you think if you get a chance. Lastly, the shelf w/ the new Figarti Lost in the Desert figures may seem out of place, but I have chosen to make them lost in the French countryside instead! :) Sorry- I'm having trouble uploading pics, but I promise to figure it out very soon. Instead of resizing images, I think I better learn how to use photobucket as indicated in another thread here. Thanks for your patience! Be back soon :D

OK, let's give posting photos thru photobucket a try. If this first attempt works, I will be back to post more of my shelf dios w/ my new H & A, Buildarama, and Figarti items along w/ some older K & C figures. Fingers crossed......

All right! It worked! I know my pics a bit dark, after all it is very dark in the man cave- like the Dark Ages!!!! But I'm sure the pics are good enough to make my words seem inept! Enjoy!

Now that I have this down, I will be photographing the rest of my collection for posting on the forum, in the appropriate place of course, which I guess would be in the user CP. :D:D:D

These look great with all of the various manufacturers products blending quite nicely. It is amazing how much you can get into such a narrow space, and maintain the versatility with separate elements.
Thank you for your kind comments about the items that we made...I am glad they found a good home.
All the Best!
Ken
