Some "local color" for the battlefield.

#51026 - the Lydia Leister house - otherwise known as Meade's HQ, Gettysburg, PA, July 1,2,3, 1863...

51038LR.jpg

#51038 - 18th and 19th Century Farm Outbuildings - you can almost smell the smoked bacon and ham, fresh milk, and outhouse....was going so well up 'til then...

51037LR.jpg

#51037 - Boulders and Rocks - perfect for a signalman and GK Warren...or an Iroquois Brave...or....

hallo Richard, great releases for all the Series! many in my wish list!

The Meade's HQ will be heavy as the Farm and the Barn or you tested lighter materials?

Carlo

Just outstanding "good stuff" Richard . . . . . on my list for sure . . .

High density foam with resin skin (so very light) and no interior in this one - trying to keep them affordable!

Britains is doing it right on affordability without sacrificing on detail...!!! That Leister farmhouse looks terrific...!!! Glad to see Britains listening to and looking out for the collector out there...

I have just pre-ordered one which I hardly ever do with any piece. I need a backdrop for my Britains Union command at Gettysburg...!!! :)

2013 is looking very good for Britains and the Civil War...!!! :smile2:

I love the piece, but I can't use it with Naps. Can we see some more Waterloo, Spanish, or general European buildings? If you make them, I will buy them^&cool!

I agree with you Sandor.
WB are making some great "fully formed" ACW/AWI and Rorkes Drift buildings but nothing for us Naps nuts.
I did mention to Richard about releasing at least a facade of La Haye Sainte but that would mean releasing a whole load of KGL to defend it......................I could live with that^&grin. Bring it on{sm4} {sm3}.
If WB made the whole farm in parts and staggered the release to make it affordable I would buy it.
Lets face it we have nearly the whole of Rorkes Drift now and that took a few years to accomplish.
If WB start now they could have finished the whole farm by say ..18 June 2015..^&grin{sm4} (now what is happening then??^&confuse:confused:)
Hougoumont is a bit big and someone else is already making it (part made it). The whole thing would cost a fortune.
How about some village buildings and farm buildings around Quatre Bras or a model of La Belle Alliance?
Not a lot of Naps in this latest catalogue so here's hoping for something special in the near future......Black Brunswickers will keep me happy until the buildings arrive.^&cool

A good friend is making molds for a full 1/32 scale Hougoumont. I would LOVE a la Haye Saint- it's quite small, and we already have 95th and line infantry. All we need is the front wall and building facades (Rorke's Drift style). The some KGL and cool French figures climbing ladders and walls. Richard- you know yu want to{sm4}^&grin^&cool

Just seen an old Tropy Miniatures La Haye Sainte on eBay tonight with ten bidders and it's currently over £1,100.00{sm3}{eek3} (no it's not mine and I'm not bidding):(.
It's our old friends MKL.

No disrespect to Trophy but I think WB could do a better job on this.

Come on Richard the need is out there.........just lower the price somewhat:)

I have had a couple of requests to see the new Gettysburg boulder and rocks set with some of our figures. These should be very useful for creating displays in and around the area.

Here they are used with the hasty works released a few years ago...

And just so you know we are serious about what we are doing... a color match during my 'boots on the ground' research at Gettysburg.

All the best,
Ken

Thank you very much Ken . . . . exactly what I needed to see and I really appreciate this follow-up to our earlier telephone conversation this afternoon. I have just the place for these on my 4'x8' dio table {bravo}}

:smile2: Mike

Thanks guys,
I think it is pretty obvious why we did a General Warren figure and a signalman now!
When I get my samples I plan on building a Little Roundtop display... maybe big enough for a couple of 10pdrs too!
Ken

Ken,
It is amazing and great to see just how much research you put into making these figures and terrain. I mean to go to Gettysburg yourself and make sure the color matches is simply wonderful! Bravo to you and your company indeed. I have my eyes on so many of your upcoming releases. :)

And this is exactly why I am constantly praising W. Britain ACW figures and accessories as the most historically accurate available on today's market. No body else does a better job in their (Ken's) research on the subject matter.

Bravo indeed! I grew up in the Frederick, Md area and instantly recognized those rocks as being true to the local geology. Well done!

Ken will look for any excuse to get to Gettysburg, why just yesterday he wanted to check on the size and shape of the nail heads in the McPherson barn....for a 1/32nd scale model!!! Ha ha! All kidding aside, we do love this stuff, and we're glad you do too!

I don't blame him as I would look for any excuse to go there as well. ^&grin
