Who are the Vikings fighting?

Asked in the context that this range is supposedly based on the landing on Holy Island (Lindisfarne).

If it is Lindisfarne then it is not so much fighting but butchering the monks. I see your point, why would they need a shield wall against monks?

This is the first offering of an extensive range that will eventually include figures and accessories for several scenarios.
The next catalog will feature at least eight new figures including Saxons.

Thanks Ken,

I'll bide my time with this range. As personally I was disappointed with the development of the Clash of Empires range from initially what promised to be interesting new range. .

Have to agree on this one, I thought the range was going to include colonists, a homestead, etc. Disappointing the way for me the range has gone, have stopped at 16019, but have nice little diorama of attackers . Worried Clash of the Nile is going the same way!

Yes as they already had a AWI line I thought it would be aimed at the FIW more but they seem to be more towards the AWI and the Old Northwest Wars. That's ok but I just find the FIW more appealing. The canoe set at Chicago is something I would want,I still have a few indians as them in themselves appeal to me.So I haven't entirely given up hope on CoE but purchases will be few unless they change direction.I know it mere fantasy and wishful thinking but I wish Conte would produce some of those figures he shows on Facebook.

To be fair to Britains they did say 1754-1794 as I went back to the original threads. So they are doing what they said. For a 40 year period it's going to take a long time to put everything out everybody wants.Hope they put some frontiersman and of course some British and French soldiers out.I think you will see the homestead shortly.I think Britains is going in the right direction, they have a lot of ranges and it's hard to please everybody at the same time, all the time.It just takes time I guess.I want to see some watercraft besides the canoe which I also like and I got the indian jumping the fence which I love those kind of pieces.

What canoe set are you talking about? Do you have photos? Thanks.

Had a great conversation with Ken at OTSN and he has a lot planned for Clash of Empires! Particularly FIW and Bushy Run! It's still early in the range.

Is this canoe set W. Britain or John Jenkins ?

Britain's has left some big holes in their AWI line. The Clash of Empires series will cover the FIW and frontier conflicts but the below products are sorely missed by AWI collectors.
Hessians
Mounted officers
American Artillery

Well my usual rate of accuracy holds up.Sorry.:redface2:

Canoe even tell the difference with these unpainted masters?

Sorry, I had to make the pun.....
