All of you that know me...know that I love the Chippawa 1814 artillery crew from JJD...I still stand adamant that this is his overall best series ever...and I definitely believe this is the largest and best artillery crew I have ever seen...if you're an artillery fanatic...this series of artillery crew and guns is a must have...I only have two US Army 8 pounders currently...so for you rivet counters...before you jump out of your chair...I added a British 6 pounder in the 3rd station because I don't have 3 US Army guns and wanted the battery full...I do have the US Army 5.5" howitzer ordered and will replace the FIW 6 pounder with it when I get it...this battery turned out so nice...it will be a permanent shelf display in my house...John really pounded the nail on the head with this offering of artillery crew...I may be mistaken...but from conversations with JJ...I think there will be a few more figures issued for this group...for me...this is one of my prize collection possessions...I went crazy with the pictures...but it's a huge crew...there are 14 figures that all work in this artillery crew...and maybe more to come...I hope...I hope...I hope...

it was an absolute pleasure to build...

All fabulous Michael but this one looks almost real and definitely looks like it was take out of doors. Great job !!

Thanks Michael, you are too kind. I only say's it as I see's it :D:D:D

Brillant staging and craftsmanship. Your work is more refined and detailed with each project. And aside from the Indian figures, these may indeed be John's best sculpting. Great faces.

You mentioned 14 figures, how is this broken down? Can you detail how us how many figures are in the actually artillery crew, compared to the flag bearers, drummers, pioneers, etc.

Mike, you have my permission to go as crazy as you like with the photos, you have a great passion for your JJD's and this is the latest in an amazing offering of scenery and displays that you have handmade for them.:cool::cool::cool:

Jeff

Just spent the pass ten mintues admiring the workmanship in creating the Gun Battery and the staging of the figures along with the photographs you provided of it my friend. Another gem from the lad from Galveston. Thanks Michael for sharing it with us........PapaZ

Mike,
VERY IMPRESSIVE. And not a Tiger tank in sight! May have to rethink my collecting of this series.

Michael

That has to be one of your best dioramas ever. You can tell that it is a labor of love and that you put your heart and soul into it. You should collaborate with John on a 2012 Chippewa Calendar.

Randy

Very nice! It really has the feal of a frantic gun battery. However, the left wheel on the middle gun is missing one rivet;):D now I think I will go do the same for the Imperial guard....

Michael mate,
Didn't know you were a scotch drinking man. Excellent. Enjoy a drop of good scotch myself when talking TS. An old Regimental tradition. I think I developed some bad/good habits in the Cavalry.:D:D
Until the West Coaster, cobber. Keep them photos coming.
Cheers Howard

Howard...
