Hi,
I see samples of these were on display at the recent London Show (See show thread for picture). Does anybody have any more information? Proposed release dates etc?

Do you mean this photo that I posted on the London show thread? If so I've enlarged it a bit.

Jeff

Thanks for the larger photo, Jeff,
these are good looking figures.
Guess, we can see them soon on the Frontline wegpage.
Konrad

Thanks for posting the photo Jeff. Looking forward to clearing some space in my dispaly cabinet for the 'Orange Lillies'.

Does anyone have any info on when they'll be available to order?

Hi,
On the Sierra Toy Soldier website there are 15 different sets of these newly listed (including the two sets that have already been mentioned), as well as a new British and French artillery set. Says they're being released over a period of time from late Sept-early Nov. They look good!

Wasn't this Otway's regiment at Quebec, on the right flank? Anyone know if Frontline figures are compatible with JJD's? -- lancer

Hi Lancer,
The answer is yes. They are the same scale and look fine mixed with JJD's (in my opinion anyway).

Thanks for the response, Pete. Looks like the Battle for Quebec could get out of hand.:D -- Al

Couldn't it just!
Egads! There are now available the 47th, 78th, 28th Ft. from JJD and the 35th Ft. from Frontline for the British. The French have 2nd La Sarre, colonial troops, and Marines from JJD and 2nd Royal Roussilon and Marines from Frontline. Plus there is artillery for both sides not to mention fine renditions of both Wolfe and Montcalm from both maufacturers. I need more space and money. -- Al

I looked at the sets over on MTSC and the prices seemed very reasonable. Forty USD for four full figures.
Are the prices correct or is that a mistake?

You are right about those listed prices, Damian. I looked at them also and I gotta say it looks like they are mis-priced or they have got to be the best bargain going. The new figures at MTSC are priced at $10 apiece whereas the older figures average somewhere around $22-25 each. I don't see how $10 each is possible. I would think the new prices would be closer to $30 each. Like I said, either a great bargain or someone goofed. -- lancer

:confused:The only thing I find a bit odd with some of the new Frontline sets is the figure configuration/combination in sets IBG.4 and IHMA.6. Both of these 3 figure sets consist of one figure loading and two kneeling firing. Just looks an odd combination to me! Surely it would be better to have one loading, one standing firing, one kneeling firing. Even if you combine one of these sets with IBG.1 or IHMA.1 (2 standing loading, 2 standing firing) to have a complete firing line (one of each loading, standing, kneeling) there is still a leftover figure standing loading. Is it just me???? At $18/$20 per left over figure that could mount up if you want a half decent firing line.

Pete

These look like some nice set with more animation.I have to get a few sets of these to check them out.

Your photo shows off the figures very nicely. For the Living History enthusiasts, there will be a FIW encampment at Fort Ontario in Oswego, NY, Aug. 29-30.
