44 days later , my Box made it to Austria !!! (1 Viewer)

Well, I had a live CHAT with a Paypal agent today. She said since I gave the buyer a Paypal refund , there is nothing Paypal can do except send him an email and ask if he would CONSIDER sending me the $300. He is under no obligation to do so since the box was not delivered to him at the time of refund. I wonder if I will see my $300? Or maybe if I Paypal him the ship fees he will at least send my box back to me???
As for eBay, I had a live Chat with them on the 3 negatives the buyer gave me, and eBay will do nothing about them. All I can do i email the buyer and see if he will reverse the nagatives.
I do not like the way things look.Andy

That sucks, I think they need to extend the time allowance before a claim can be filed negative feedback can be left etc... perhaps 60 or 90 days would be better.

Tough situation. I believe your best bet would be Paypal. I would try and reach a supervisor (in the USA) and explain your situation. It will not be easy but Paypal is certainly your best bet.

Ebay is deaf.......you can talk yourself silly to whomever your reach at their corporate headquarters in the philllippines, or malaysia, or borneo......or wherever they are currently paying someone .50 an hour to handle "issues"
I can safely say you will fare much better with Paypal.

Good luck.

As for the Post Office............you will have better luck with ebay.

I did talk with Paypal and they said I was at the mercy of the Buyer.I have shipped International and 100's of boxes, normally takes 7 to 10 days for shipment.I will let you know what the buyer decides to do.

Nija, thanks for all your advice, I am glad you are back posting. Not sure where you were for a few months. I always appreciale your insight, Andy

Thanks Andy, I was concentrating on other areas of collecting. I throw myself into it, read everything I can find and try to build my knowledge so I know what I am doing. I spent several months acquiring old brochures, documenting prices, and finding sources for spare parts.....then I jumped in.

I would keep talking to Paypal.

1st they are easy to reach and in the USA.

2nd they actually care about customer service, especially if you have any kind of a history with them.

3rd It may take several phone calls, but I have always been able to reach a reasonable solution with them.

If he's honest and at least his brother sounded right, he will solve things up in a heartbeat. I really have great memories from Austria and the Austrians, generally very nice honest people, but who knows, there is scum everywhere...

Sounds about right. They have everything set up in case of fraud but nothing in place when something eventually does arrive.

There is SUPPOSED to be "Seller Protection" but they've still stacked their system totally in favor of the buyer.
