Scott -- since my camera is broken and I haven't replaced it yet, I took the liberty of using some photos that were in ads on Ebay (some of which I purchased). Hope the photos are of assistance. The only other horses were those used to pull the Queen's barochue (set 00293) --

Hi Michel,

Perhaps MKL Model in England can help you. Their website is www.mklmodels.co.uk

The owner is very helpful.

Scott

Here is a photo that came with the presentation set:

If you need further info please advise.
Dear Dick,
Thanks for the information! I missed your answer completely (and apparently all the comments that came afterward ) now I just have to dig around and figure out who asked me that question and send them the answer. I know he will be a very happy bunny.
Thanks again for taking the time to post all that info.
Best regards,

MKL is your best bet to obtain all of the sets, and at a very reasonable price. They do show up on Ebay once in a while if you're in no hurry, and don't mind waiting. If you want them now, definitely contact MKL.

Hi Dick,
nice collection i often wondered if anybody had actually purchased the full series:confused:
I started, but it was one of the main reasons i stopped collecting Britains and products from its collectors club. This series so maddened and infuriated me,previous sets from the club were at the time reasonable in the time (ie the RAF set and the Sherwood foresters)and $$$ needed to collect them, but the way this series was spread around various retailers (Britains, its club,MKL models, and Hamleys toyshop.
You started off knowing what was going to be in the series, then who and behold after a couple months collecting a new set was released, at what seemed at the time over inflated prices:mad:But that's just what i remember from the time.
Hamleys are supposed to be premium toy shop in London, and i made the trip to the London,to purchase one of these sets for the series, and they said it wasn't on sale in their store, just display and mail order only:mad:I asked them if i could take their display set and pay cash, nope credit and cheque for mail order items:confused::mad:
Rant over, but you cant go wrong with Mkl models, excellent fast service and a joy to speak and order from,an example i purchased a Nelson limited Edition set and i somehow managed to bust the lid, phoned Lyn Kenwood at Mkl models, they had a hunt round found a replacement lid, sent free of charge:D
Oh and one more thing,Britains products and its club are back in my good books,so all has been forgiven:p
regards steve

I finished collecting the presentation sets in January of this year, and as of that date MKL did have in stock the sets you were looking for.

I have collected the whole presentation series, and a few extra sets of nos. 294 and 319 "to fill out the ranks" so to speak. Due to space limitations, I set up the whole set usually once a year -- leave it up for a month or so, and then pack it away and put other sets up. Nice to find someone else who also has the whole series. I think there are only a few of us around. Do you leave your sets up for display all the time?

Regards,
Dick

Getting back to the original query--I talked with the collector again and he clarified that what he needs to know is which pieces go where in the display. The overhead shot of the figures didn't help him because you can't see the instruments to know which musicians go where.
He says Britains published a layout (different than the photos posted here) that came with the sets but he lost it in a relocation.
He has tried to find historical records or images of the Scots Guard Band but has had no luck finding the exact lineup.
Do we have any Scots Guard Band experts out there? Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the answer thus far--I thought the pictures were great as well as the comments and suggestions.
Regards,

Hi Shannon,

I finally had a second to look through all of my Standards and found the lay out. It is as follows:

Band Master center front
Row 1: Trombone, trombone, Trombone Lance Sergeant, Trombone, Trombone, Trombone Lance SGT. 6 figure frontage.

Row 2: Cornet, Cornet, Cornet Lance Sgt, Cornet, Cornet, Cornet Lance Sgt.

Row 3: Tenor Horn, French Horn, Cornet Lance Sgt, Cornet, French Horn, Tenor Horn

Row 4: Circular Bass, Tuba, Euphonium, Euphonium, Tuba, Circular Bass

Row 5: Side Drum, Cymbals, Bass Drum, Tenor Drum, Side Drum, Side Drum

Row 6: Basson, Tenor Sax, Alto Sax, Alto Sax, Tenro Sax, Oboe

Row 7: Tenor Horn, Clarinet, Clarinet, Clarinet, Clarinet, Tenor Horn

Row 8: Clarinet Lance Sgt, Clarinet, Piccolo, Piccolo, Clarinet, Clarinet Lance Sgt

If you need a listing of the sets I have that too by the Britain Set Number

There are 49 figures in all for a complete band

Hope this helps them out The Information came from the Collectors Club Magazine The Standard February 2001

All the best

Dave
