The big snow covered evergreens are actually Lemax...way cheaper! Get them at Menards!:):)

B,
Outstanding as usual from you, I think I'll be leaving the other winter dio at home now if you catch my "drift"....................terrific piece........have a spot in the room for it already.

Glad you like it George...I have a feeling you will probably fill it with Germans...but you get the general idea of what you will be working with. Hope it helps you show of these wonderful sets and lands you many sales! :D

What a terrific dio and apt for me as I'm reading 'The Battle of the Bulge - Hitler's Last Gamble' by Patrick Delaforce.

It will definately help me sell all the new Bulge sets that will be out time for the show....................................or so I hope (the new sets that is) .............

Oz,

7 Roads to Hell was my name for this thread but is also a very good book on the Bulge...written by a member of the 101st. I enjoy the books that give you the common soldier's perspective.

"Seven Roads to Hell: A Screaming Eagle at Bastogne" by Don Burgett - one of several amazing first hands account by this veteran paratrooper.

Ding ding ding....you are correct Louis! That's the book. Very good read!

great diorama. what kind of buildings do you have in your dio? Wish i could see this in real life in a few weeks.

Patrick

It's a great read, as are all of Mr. Burgett's other books:

Currahee! A Screaming Eagle at Normandy

[I forget the Title] A Screaming Eagle in Holland

On to Berlin! A Screaming Eagle in Germany

The building is one used for trains....picked it up at my local hobby store....had to build it and paint it but was pretty easy.

Nice work on the diorama. I look forward to viewing it in George's room. I have those four books. Interesting account. Leadmen

Great dio and that building looks awesome. I'll be checking it out on Friday. :)

This looks great... I have always loved the battle of the bulge... Great Job...

Very nice scene. I'll look forward to seeing it in person in George's room in Chicago.

Gary

Nicely constructed dio Brian.
What's the story with the Sherman, is it a re-paint? I can't recall seeing one in white wash.

Yes I repainted it winter white about 3 years ago. My 101st guys needed some tank support and there was nowhere else to turn.....
