I bought 3 of these kits in Vienna at Bohm's shop when on holiday in 2014 and thought that they had been discontinued, but after returning home I managed to track down the other 5 at Berlin Zinnfiguren.

Over the past few weeks I have completed half of the figures

and assembled the other 4.

They are painted as the Gyulay (also spelled Guilay) Regiment or "I.R. 51"

Hope you like what I've done so far, so keep a lookout for the completed figures, and then I'll add them to a diorama with a wall and gate similar to what's on the Hecker & Goros website. http://www.hecker-goros.de/

You are an excellent painter !

The detail in the first photo is fantastic.

Thank you for posting.

I echo Ivanhoe's comment John. I really look forward to you and the Baron posting German and Eastern European figures.

The figures are transformed thanks to your supberb painting skills John. Nicely done.:salute::, Robin.

Beautiful figures John, the age has a real stylistic flair and I,ve been so often tempted :salute::

Thanks for all your kind comments about these figures I'm painting.

When in Vienna I also visited the Military Museum, and saw original drawings of the uniforms from the 7 YW period and the army of Marie Therese.

I photographed all of them and this is the Gyulay Regiment and I have also used that as reference for the painting.

Great job John :salute:::salute::.
I visited Zinnfiguren Böhm in 2013 it was a super cool and super small shop :wink2: talked to the owner for hours I had a great time the wife not so much :redface2:. regards Gebhard

Well,John, you certainly are a talented painter. As I approach my(hopefully) imminent retirement, and was looking forward to spending more time on this hobby,I have been caught between the crashing AUD,the creeping(or perhaps surging) rise in the cost of toy soldiers and the high cost of postage,I may have to try painting my own,a thing which I have not done for years.Well done on these-really beautiful.

Today I have finished painting the other 4 figures, shown assembled previously

HG-4more.jpg

And this is group shot of all 8 figures, laying down because they didn't come with bases, I have added a pin in one foot per standing figure because I'm planning on using them in a diorama.

HG set.jpg

maybe after that I will add bases?

Hope you like them painted, but it maybe a couple of months before the diorama is completed, and I'll make a new Thread for that.

John
