I have a question regarding one of K&C's 71st Highlander soldiers.
This has probably been covered before so sorry if I am going over old ground.

I have gradually built up a complete set of the 71st Highlanders (or so I thought).
I was lookiing through eBay and noticed two listings for NA04 the kneeling firing 71st Highlander. One seller has listed a picture of NA04 with a bayonet attached to his musket and the other seller's picture does not have a bayonet attached.

I own two NA04'S and neither of mine have bayonets and look as though they were made like that. They don't look as though the have had the bayonet broken off.

I have looked through my old K&C brochures and the NA04 is pictured with a bayonet. I also looked through the back catalogue on K&C website and found that the NA04 listed did not have a bayonet.

I'm confused. Did K&C produce two versions of NA04?
I hope someone can help.

Hi Naps,

like you, my NA04 has no bayonet, nor has it been broken off AND my old brochure and this image has one shown.

Therefore I bet there were 2 types. The arm and musket would be cast separatley then joined, so an easy variation.

If I recall this was raised before and I believe the answer was that NA04 had advertising shots with bayonet but the actual release came without.

Thanks for your replies John, Jeff and Gazza;

It would be interesting to know if anyone has got an NA04 with bayonet fixed. I must say I like both versions.

The guy selling the NA04 on eBay (with a bayonet) looks like he is using a stock photograph possibly taken from a K&C brochure.
He could have problems if his buyer wants a bayonet on the end of the musket and doesn't get one:D
Cheers

I checked my NA04 (3 total) & all are w/o bayonet.

Next I checked NA31 British 71st Infantryman Charging (2 total) & I have one each w/ a bayonet & one w/o a bayonet. The catalogue shows it w/o the bayonet.

Does anyone have this figure w/ the bayonet too?

Thanks, Glenn

Glenn,

my NA31 is without bayonet, like the brochure.
