Has anyone actually been able to mount the cruciform to the carriages? I believe my carriages & cruciform are assembled correctly (with a few exceptions) but the pieces just don't fit together to put the gun on wheels. It seems to be a design issue which is going to take some major surgery to make right.

Could you post some photos

That sounds bad and, I have the winter version of both but, have never set up the gun on the road wheels. I hope this is not a manufacturing issue. will post again after checking how the one I have fits or not!!

don't have the energy. This really sapped the life out of me

Considering getting them as I did not have them yet,Now debating if I should. ^&confuse

Tried, but the supports pop out of the ciassons. Does not seem to fit too well. At least on mine. Going to have to get some superglue.

Oh sure its a bit tough, but the certainly fit nicely once assembled, I've done it many times for photos etc.

They fit exactly like the real ones so it makes connecting them tough at the scale for sure, really didn't want them to be like a simple toy but authentic in this regard, but again with the right touch they fit great.

Cheers!

Brian, I am awed at the complexity of your model. The amount of time it must have taken to design...I can't imagine, and I already got my money's worth even if the wheels don't go on. However, to get them on, at least in my model, would take an incredible amount of force, and even then I don't know if it's possible. Could it be that you were able to do it because you know of the strong/weak points of the model & know where you can go caveman on it & where you can't?

I'm thinking instructions would have been best. As there is a trick to seating them easily, sort of like a simple puzzle I'm afraid. Maybe I should post a movie online that shows how to assemble them? Its quite easy if you know how the stem lodges in to begin with.

Brian

Blowtorch...

apologies to you for the delay. I tried mine and, to say its a fiddly job is an understatement!!!! its a good fit with no problems of matching the fixings as you have found on yours. I would agree that some instructions would have been a benefit for those who are unfamiliar with this kind of thing

Yours however, and, your knowledge of the subject, seems to sound more than just a fiddly job. Can you get some pics on here as, what sounded like a manufacturing issue of incorrect fitting should affect all

I know when we got them I spoke with Neil about them and he did not mention any issues other than colour. If you can post some pics. I also sent you a PM

Mitch is right mine had problems with lack of white wash but did fit together ok

Yes, the detail is as I said when it came superb. but, its very fiddly and, I can see some being able to break parts. I also found the shield to be a job and, a half.

there is a tab on the shield that out of the box, doesn't match up with the grove in the mount. However, it is sturdy enough to take some bending from channel lock pliers. Slight bending & it will go right where it's supposed to go

Blowtorch..

Sounds like it was just done wrong at the factory. I usually get the rickets. Glad it was not a major job

Better a tight, snug fit than always falling off. !

ya, but if you get it, be aware that the shield isn't designed to be a tight snug fit...so don't try to make it one!{sm4} The shield just rests freely on the gun/mount. The tab I mention is to put it in proper alignment, but it isn't going to be a secure fit
