The way the Japanese treated POW's is close to home to we Australians, many good men died horrible deaths at their hands, my great Uncle was one, on the Burma railway he was worked to death.Very true, I dont care what the Japenese ethos was , some of them were filth for the way they treated allied pow's . I'm sure someone will now step forward and tell me I'm wrong, but wasnt there a lot more torture and ill treatment of allied prisoners by the Japs than the Germans?? To give him his due its not something i imagine Rommel would have allowed.

The Emperor should have been tried as a war criminal end of story, the Americans decided no for political reasons. I know it is history now but even so it was the wrong decision. Until her dying day my Mother would not have any truck with the Japanese rightly or wrongly she would never forgive them for killing her Uncle.
