I haven't seen this set yet and would like some opinions from those that have. In particular I'd like to know if the large circular firing base is removeable.

Hi Oz
yes the circular base is removable ,its a nice set ,Excellent figures the only
other 25 pdr i have to compare it too is a corgi one in a smaller scale that is probably more detailed, but as a display piece its very good.

It's a nice piece. Interestingly you will note that the newer K&C WWII boxes contain the photographic image from which the set was inspired. It would appear to be a European rather than a North African environment.

I too think it's a nice piece. Nothing that would win a first prize at a modelers show, but nice. The AK 10.5cm is by far much better. But, I am still pleased that I purchased the 25 pounder. It sure would be nice to see some artillery in Normandy, both German and Allied.

Why do you think the AK gun is better. I actually like this one much more and I think the figueres are better sculpted. This is one of my favorite pieces.

The 10.5cm has much finer details that have better definition. The 25 Pounder looks like some of the earlier K&C vehicles, “a bit rough around the edges.” Where there should be sharp right angles, rounded. Where there should be a defined change between rounded and straight, like the transition from the barrel to the breach, no defined change. Kind-of-a melding. The figures look great. The 10.5cm has very straight lines, well-defined features and a cleaner look to it. Just my own personal taste is the judge.

So how does the K & C 25 pounder compare to other makes such as the Britains version etc?

:( Hello Guy's! My Opinion, on both the AK29-and the EAO4-25th Pounder, are both Nice; But, I Notice some of the Figure's are getting Smaller in Statue, like the AK28-Set, Interrogating POW? Also, my Beef is that Andy's NEW Motorcycle Sets, that the Wheels are Static, and the Bikes's are Smaller than Original ( GREAT ) WS06'S? We're Paying Good Price's for these Toys, and Not Getting the Input Quality and Satisfaction!

Are you really suggesting the Corgi is better detailed than the K & C version, or did I read you wrong? I have a Crescent 25 pounder which is a great little operating toy canon and better than the Corgi imo, but I wouldn't venture to say it was better than the K&C based on pics I've seen.

yeah its probably a poor comparison as like the britains deetail version they are toys ,but they are great when your a kid for shooting tomb thumb laced match sticks [small firecrackers] out of when your a kid.I suppose because its a smaller it just seems a little sharper.I have no preference over the two it was just an observation the K and C set as i,ve said is a very nice set.
But if your looking to lob tom thumbs 'their can be only one''
