We are very pleased to start the pre-order of the first of the "fighting" figures of the 92nd Gordon Highlanders. Figures NAP0260-NAP0269 are now available for order and will be shipping to customers in late April 2011. As we've discussed previously, our intention all along when covering this regiment was to allow for the creation of a true 4 rank square or 4 rank line of battle (for the purist anyway, three ranks will provide the same feel as well of course!). This second release brings 10 new figures to add to the 13 previously released figures. Next month we'll pre-order the last 8 figures, NAP0270-NAP0276, for a whopping total of 31 different Gordon Highlanders. Surely, when coupled with the masses of charging French Cuirassiers, Carabiniers, and Mounted Personalities, a Waterloo diorama builder's dream come true!

NAP0260 92nd Gordon Highlander Sergeant - $59.95
NAP0261 92nd Gordon Highlander Sapper - $59.95
NAP0262 92nd Gordon Highlander Corporal - $59.95
NAP0263 92nd Gordon Highlander Kneeling to Repel - $59.95
NAP0264 92nd Gordon Highlander Kneeling Ready - $59.95
NAP0265 92nd Gordon Highlander Standing Firing - $59.95
NAP0266 92nd Gordon Highlander Standing Ready - $59.95
NAP0267 92nd Gordon Highlander Standing Loading - $59.95
NAP0268 92nd Gordon Highlander Kneeling Firing - $59.95
NAP0269 92nd Gordon Highlander Kneeling Loading - $59.95

These look very, very nice Matt and I am sure the Nappers will be thrilled. I hope us AWI collectors will see a similar release of action poses for the 5th Grenadiers eventually . . .
:smile2: Mike

Beautifully done :salute:::salute:: Hats off to First Legion for yet another Fantastic release and to think this line will have 31 different figures when complete just outstanding :salute:::salute:: Thanks for taking my Napoleonic collection into the 21st Century no longer a need to buy multiples of the same figure to build ranks which in the end look unrealistic . Regards Gebhard

Well done Matt! These are a perfect example of why First Legion is tops, especially when it comes to Napoleonics. With this announcement, I know there are a number of very happy Nap collectors today.

And to top it all off, there are even more coming soon!

Outstanding … Some bonny Gordon Highlanders here, great to see this series developing.

Glad you guys like them.

Just realized that i forgot to post an image of the NAP0260, the Sergeant. So here he is!

Mike - as for AWI "action" troops, they are coming in spades this summer. But not the 5th unfortunately, a different regiment will be done.

Best,

Matt

Matt,

I noticed you didn’t post this … Great looking figure, superbly compliments this excellent release. Alby

Another Fantastic Release:smile2:.....This company just continues to impress......First Legion Rules

Great news Matt. I have been waiting for these blokes since you released the back line. Now I can hear the wailing of the pipes curling over the sounds of the guns.^&cool^&grin

These look outstanding , I think #260 is my favourite of the group .

I wouldn't say there is no need for multiples, but rather that with this excellent variety you can concentrate on just the ones that suit your particular needs. No question more variety in poses is MUCH better and as always, well delivered by FL.

Hi Bill ,
The point I was trying to make is that in the past ie before FL I was forced like others to buy 5 , 10 even more of the exactly the same figure to try and build ranks. You know the usual three poses loading, standing and firing and kneeling and firing . regards Gebhard

Yes I completely agree with that point. Its just that I have 2-4 of most of the FL poses in the formations I have. That's just what happens when you go beyond the 21st (or thereabouts) pose.:wink2:^&grin Naturally that is much different than having it happen after the third.^&cool

Gebhard, I would agree totally. The fact that First Legion makes thier releases so extensive is one of the things that first drew me in. Before FL came along, I was never satisfied in having a formation of figures where most of them were the exact same. For some people, it doesn't matter, but to me, it was an issue. With FL, you can have a much larger formation before needing any multiples.

Bill, you have a point. I like how FL does thier releases, in that there is such variety of pose. That serves collectors who don't like multiples, but yet still would like a substantial formation of, say, 20 figures. At the same time, collectors like yourself, who desire a much larger formation, can have that but with a minimum of repeat poses.

So in the end, the way FL provides so much variety serves everyone best!:)

Well said Noah. That is why my credit card is so challenged lately.^&grin

Between these and the upcoming Rifles, I would think a Peninsula diehard such as yourself is nearly in heaven!

Noah
Not quite yet Noah since there are many things I still would like to see and to date all my FL Peninsula goodies are actually Waterloo retreads.:redface2: That said, I am thrilled to have these most recent two and they both will fit in nicely for my purposes, despite their true origins. I may have to have a few of these lads "altered" (as Matt faints) to make for a more versatile use so I can use them on attack for places like Fuentes. That is assuming Homeland Security will allow me to receive packages from the UK in less than 2 months.:rolleyes2:

True, you haven't seen a 'pure' Peninsula release so far, but as you say, these should work nicely. It would be interesting to see what you come up with if you do decide to 'alter' a few Highlanders. The altered Guards that you have posted int the past were very well done and added a lot to an already impressive display.

They are well thought out and I will be adding them to my collection in due course its such a pity I had to buy many multiples of the British 1st foot Gaurds to build a realistic square there are nearly double the amount of Highlanders availiable making such a big investment much more realistic. I wish it were the other way around
but hats of to FL for another great release. All we need now is some decent Brit cavalry

Totally agree .. when First legion first started I guess they were just getting warmed up ... Some of their earlier releases suffer from IMO not enough sculpts in the release .. My beloved Bavarians come to mind which I have a ton of  looking back I sure wish they had released 31 different poses instead of the 9 they did ..I had two buy way to many multiples of the loading and firing figures to get were I wanted to be .. My hope is that they will one day revisit Bavaria with a complete line of all new sculpts ... But you know what here it is over three years later and still no one else has done any Bavarians so I guess I shouldn't complain too much .. :salute:: regards Gebhard
