I awoke this morning with a great sense of anticipation for this month's K&C dispatch. Well I wasn't disappointed! In my very biased and humble opinion I think the June 09 dispatch is "their best one ever".
I have waited my whole life to have Canadian toy soldiers and now that dream is within reach! You must understand as a boy I always had to substitute British troops for Canadians. It was easy to obtain Americans, British, French, Indian, Australians, Germans, Russians and Japanese plastic troops but never Canadians. In fact when browsing this dispatch I started to feel a little choked up. Finally a manufacturer has seen fit to honour the major contribution Canadians made to free our world from tyranny.
It is a deep sense of pride and gratitude that I feel when gazing upon these troops. I'm certain this feeling is one you guys feel when you have troops in your collection from your respective countries. I must say its a great feeling and one that hasn't been filled in me for far too long.
I sincerely hope that many collectors, history lovers and fellow Treefroggers will add some of these pieces to their collections in some way. Despite the deep recession and unfavourable currency I will definitely be adding every single one of these pieces to my collection.

I too will be buying the Canadian pieces and I suppose that means I must buy the LCA and the German Bunker.

Yep i hear you on that one my friend.I felt exactly the same when K&C released their 'For you Fritz the war is over' set.Finally i had a great set from the Battle of Britain,a battle i am so proud of.

Congrats on your Canadians CFM,I shall be getting all of them too!

In order to fill out the Canadian landing party, I was thinking of adding a few of the Brit sets. Think they will look OK? I know troops became intermingled in battle, but not in the same LCA.

I think they will look fine mixed. Nice to have them honoured, they fought well in ww2, for a young country with so little a population. One of them snatched my aunty from the uk & got married.

As soon as I saw this, today. I knew I had to get most, if not all that is coming out on July (WWII, Strickly), First One(As everyone Will), The Cromwell. The center piece. And Build around It. Or is it the Bunker

Just thought I would return here for a brief moment to say: thanks very much Andy for making these, you done good, real good. Since apparently I'm still viewed as one of your fiercest critics, maybe that compliment counts for something extra, don't know.

Now about those WW1 Canadians, a war we arguably played a much larger role in...

The Canadian Scottish Regiment , (the K&C Canadians) were on the extreme right at Juno Beach extending the right flank of the Royal Winnipeg Rifles. The 2nd East Yorkshire Regiment (the K&C Brits) were far away to the north in the centre-right at Sword Beach. However, the 5th East Yorkshire Regiment were at the extreme left of Gold Beach, immediately adjacent to the right of the Canadian Scottish and likely intermingled to some degree. The East Yorkshire Regiment was the only regiment to have two battalions in the first assault wave on D-Day.

Is there still time to change the 2nd to a 5th on the British uniforms Andy?

Good research there Phantom, thanks for that. I think at this scale the 2 or 5 will be hardly visible, if at all. The fact that the shape and colour of the shoulder insignia would be the same (I assume...) between the two battalions of the East Yorkshire, means I think one could add a few of the British figures to the Canadian's flank without losing any sleep at night.
