A Christmas Tale (1 Viewer)

To 4th Hussar - I hope you also find something toyish under the tree. Maybe set #104 from Hocker which is presently on sale.

And Louis, I know you've already asked but I thought I'd pass on it because it's not related to toy soldiers, ... unless, I told myself, he asks again and really wants to know. But you might be disappointed. Still since you really want to know, I'll post it on this thread before Christmas. :)

Russell,

You don't have to reveal a family secret if you don't want to, but if you do, I will reveal a pretty juicy family secret about my great grandfather in response . . .:p:D

Excellent last chapter! What a great little tale, a ripping yarn!

Best of the season back at you, Russell, leave your shoes outside your door tonight, so St. Nicholas can leave you something, for being a good boy here in the forum! Watch out for Krampus!

Prosit!
Brad

I've been asked about the supporting cast in private messages so here are the actors.

In the first photo we have castings I bought and painted that are based on the original Britain African Rifles figures. I believe the name of the maker is Replica or Replicant.

In the second photo ia a set of The African Rifles by Lancer which I bought as seen.

The third photo shows the Lancer figures of photo two on the left. On the right we have Lancer castings which I painted.

The fourth photo shows the 2.95" gun and Egyptians by Steadfast Soldiers.

The final photo shows the 10th Hussar heliograph set (BC-10) by Fusilier.

Part Two will follow.

This is perfect. I will add these cast photos to the Christmas Tale web page. Look forward to part 2.

Thanks,

Randy

Here is part Two.

The first photo shows castings I painted from Tradition. The 7th Bengal Infantry.

The second photo of baskets, barrels and tents come from Barzo Playsets. I did a bit of finishing painting.

The third photo shows the Egyptian Camel Corps. I bought these as seen at a show. I believe the seller had bought them as castings and painted them himself.

The fourth photo shows some of my Beau Geste figures. The box is packed away and I forget the name of the set.

The final photo shows figures I painted from inexpensive castings I bought at different shows.

The palm trees are castings from Tradition which I painted except for one palm tree which is to the right of the town gate. That one comes from Beau Geste.

Thanks again. I'll get to work on these today. It's like having the extras on a DVD with the director's commentary on his cast:)

Thank you for sharing a wonderful story with terrific illustrations. Just the thing to get a boy interested in playing with toy soldiers.
