A "Disarmed" Horse Soldier (1 Viewer)

Dang fine work on that conversion. You must have Ice water in your veins to hack up a mounted figure. Two thumbs way up!!!!!!!!

When I knocked up this little "watering the Reb steeds" scenario for my dio thread down in the forum's basement I used all the K&C Confederate figures I had except one......

This guy............ I just couldn't fit him into the scene so subsequently left him out. It then suddenly struck me that his aiming/firing pose just didn't fit with the rest of the K&C troopers who were all posed more in alert mode and if I constructed any other scenes with these guys I still wouldn't readily be able to use him. Having seen some of you guys inspirational repaints of AFV's to your preferred theatres of war and a few of you even altering standing figures to suit your particular requirements. Decision was made to convert said miscreant to closer align with the other figures in the series.

Both arms were removed and carbine cut away. New arms molded using both original elbow joints. Horses reins had to be cut & ground off the neck area with an alignment to a new molded right hand. New left hand molded to rest on his forward saddle roll. Rider's torso and horse repainted and left eye painted open

No doubt it's debateable whether one prefers the original pose or the new. But for me he now fits more appropriately with the rest of his fellow horse soldiers and I can make much more use of him

Thats very nice work u did their,and the pics are awsome. I just ordered a few of the confederate cav
horseback riders seeing your pics cant wait til they arrive. {bravo}}

Nice job there Bob,
I think your modification makes the figure work better for the story you are telling.
I really like to see collectors 'roll up their sleeves' and wade in with conversions and repaints. I believe it is the best way to personalize your collection and probably gives more enjoyment in the end too.

Waiting to see more,
Ken
