A Few Photos (1 Viewer)

Thanks for the photos of your Jenkin's figures and cabinets. You have a very nice collection and BOS are my favorite figures along with the woodland Indians. John

Thanks folks.

Donnie...

that's a cool photo of your Snow Shoes...looks like you got every figure in the series...your shelf displays are amamzing...

I'm sad to hear that Snow Shoes coming to an end...I really hope it doesn't...I have always felt my Ranger/Brit coalition was a little small compared to the French/Indian forces...I had always hoped for some more Rangers or British Line figures to fill out my ranks some more...

I love the British Line Infantry figures in idle non-combat poses as they make a great campfire diorama...

then when he issued Ensign Ross as a 42nd Black Watch...I started dreaming about some more Black Watch figures......

I got these winter bushes from Treefrog...the are a JG Miniature (JGS-008C) product and really help my shelf display...

the other bare trees in the back are branches out of my back yard with a little Woodland Scenics snow glued to them and a base made of Sculpey...I made about 30 of them one day but only have 4 on this shelf...

Looking forward to some more Baqqara Lancers, just the one adds a lot of interest to a display.

Looks like it's going to be another great year for JJD Collectors with all that's been shown here of John's visit.

Wonderful collection, very tastefully displayed. {bravo}} -- Al

Hi Donnie,

Very nice set up. The white cases make the figures stand out really well. I agree that this year is going to have a lot of nice additions for all of John's ranges. I'm looking forward to the new rangers that are coming out. And the new Dragoons are very tempting. I might break down and have to buy them. At least that are not a limited edition, so I have some time.

Matthew

Great round of photos Donnie an looking forward to your next round featuring the new additions to the series as John fends them out{bravo}}{bravo}}{bravo}}

Thank you Joe, Matthew, Al!

Always look forward to John's monthly release announcements with great anticipation and knowing some of what is in the works now is going to heighten that even more.

Great shot of the Richthofen tripe. Very sharp. I also really like that Naval Brigade Gatling gun. I don't collect the Sudan but I think I might like to have that gun and crew. -- Al

Great photos and set ups! As Mike said earlier in the posts, I am very jealous!
Especially of snowshoes, which are just a super range.
Thanks for sharing.

Maj. The Battle on Snowshoes is as you know very special to any JJD Collector. I'm very thankful and fourtunate to have the series.

I've been a slow starter with SCW series, but will catch up soon.
The work John has done is just amazing.

Nice collection of JJD figures and accessories! BTW, how do your figures hold up in Florida? Does the humidity cause any problems? Do you need to keep your air-conditioning running at a certain level?

Storing JJD in Florida

I live in Florida and keep my collection of JJD, K&C, Britains, Conte, etc. (both metal and painted plastic) in a clean, well-enclosed outdoor shed with plenty of ventilation and outdoor shade, but no A/C. The figures are packed loose, many in tissue, inside shoe boxes or the original boxes, and those are placed inside big plastic bins. It's been that way for about 2 years. No problem. I have been thinking about A/C; running during summer months only (May - August).

Donnie...you're right about that...I have the entire series and would never sell it off...my absolute favorite series...JJ picked a nice small unusual engagement in the history of the FIW with Snow Shoes...even though it's retired...I hope he will still issue some CC sets...

I would not think there would be any issues with being in Florida. These are all inside. I'm sure Mike Miller has just as bad humidity down along the gulf coast in Texas. The AC runs and keeps the humidity out of the air, no matter what it is set at.

And Joel's set up seem like a good idea. Keeping them in plastic inside their boxes keeps them from the elements. I can't think of anything that would cause any problems there.

Joel, did we meet at the Troops of Time meet and greet last week?

Matthew
