Hi Guys,

As usual the Treefrog Forum has a whole bunch of interesting topics and comments that I thought you might like my “tuppence worth” on...

1) How Expensive is K&C?

Well, in general, I think it’s fairly affordable...Does that make it cheap? Alas, I don’t think so...good quality never comes cheap...for anything. But, more importantly do we provide you the collector with “more bang” for your hard-earned bucks? Consider our upcoming M12 Motor Gun Carriage...you know the one with the big 155mm gun on top. K&C’s retail price on that will be US$169 — that’s for the vehicle (obviously) and five (5) full figures in combat poses.

Just compare that with what else you can get in the same market for roughly the same amount of money.

Now, before some people jump down my throat about how much “Forces of Valor” or “21st Century” they can purchase for that amount of “dosh”. Please remember that those really big boys are producing in the tens of thousands...not the hundreds. And they are selling through the “WALMARTS” and “TOYS ‘R’ US” which K&C has no wish to get into bed with.

So, back in the same market place compare apples with apples...oranges with oranges...polystone & metal with polystone & metal.

Another important factor is how much K&C invests in possibly the widest and most diverse range of subjects in the toy soldier market today. All of this and much, much more goes into the overall final costings of what we put out and the price we charge for it.

So, as I’m sure you’ve worked out already I hope and believe K&C produces a darn good product at a price the vast majority of collectors can afford to buy.

2) Ron’s Bolivian Run

It’s good to have the not-so-old scoundrel back! I particularly enjoyed his travelogue on the wonders and sights of Bolivia. Now, what we all want to know is...what was he really up to down there???

3) John’s latest instructions...

So, if I get it right John...don’t do any Fallschirmjager until we produce more North Africa sets (I am assuming both Eighth Army and Afrika Korps). And he’s also hoping Collector’s Showcase goes into a second North Afrikan phase — I don’t think they have even fully released phase1 yet!!! But if they do he wants Tobruk II and El Alamein! Finally, John would like British D. Day Infantry for all three beaches ASAP.

Well, I would like to write more but...I have to get back to my drawing board and get to work on all those sets John wants...needs...must have!

Best wishes and...happy collecting!

Andy C.

Andy, thanks for your post.Could you give us anymore details on the new Kingsize series, frequency of releases etc.The M12 looks fantastic, and seems a very fair price to me.Its going to help my allies break out of Normandy!

$169 for the M12 and the crew:eek:  WOW. In the immortal words of that great military genius Private
Gomer Pyle, USMC, "THANK YA, THANK YA, THANK YA." :) :) :)

Its a great price eh?,now if i can just persaude Andy to make a Bulge crew for it.Now obviously i don't want to dramatise or overplay the situation at all.But i was at the doctors yesterday and he said 'You know what would help your long term pain and disabillity?.'Some artillery support around the Bastogne area'!.And that is the whole truth, and if i'm lying may i be balding, overweight and still have a bad back.......D'oh!!!!:D

$169.00 (USD) for the M12 with five-man crew? WOW, thanks Andy! The only bad news is that I have to find a suitable display space. Next I have to grab a few days of overtime (tank money plus the associated taxes that keep me from spending all that I actually earn). That is a great deal in the world of K&C collecting. Look out Siegfied Line - the 155s are coming!

Andy:

Supercalifrajalisticexpialidocious! Great price for the M12

Also, before you go to the drawing board, I would like to add the Sexton which I know John would also like .

I think that most know that I am not a K/C, drink the koolaid quick collector, but the one thing I will say to most anyone ,is that K/C mfg. the finest vehicles and crews for the money of anyone. Whereas most of the other folks are cutting production # to justify higher prices, K/C continues to offer top quality product for reasonable prices. And the reason why WW2 is most popular is the most bang for the buck....ex. the new M12 and five full figures for $169 versus 3 nappy cavalry for the same price Do the math .......Michael
