K&C has done many figures/sets of Rommel. Here are three sets from the past that I have from the AK line. First is of Rommel and preparing to ride in his "desert taxi" airplane.

EDIT - referring to your first set of images:

Very nice Duke. I really like this version of Rommel and with the plane and hangar, it makes a great scene. Interestingly, I broke mine out earlier this morning to take a few shots. Originally, I didn't like the pilot; seemed too small. After photographing; however, its a nicely detailed figure.

Thanks for sharing. I always enjoy seeing how other K&C collectors combine their sets to make various scenes. Your photo sets are always cool!

Thanks WO.

The pilot figure is nice and the Desert Taxi set is one that is very much under appreciated I think. The Rommel figure is also well done.

I have the Horch which is a really nice set but the GREIF predates my collection. I'd love to find one of these at a reasonable price. Great photo set as well as your collection. The DAK pieces got me into K&C and each vehicle/figure is a treasure. Love the versatility of the desert buildings as well. Love all versions of Rommel although I'm not real fond of how K&C painted the open mouth of the Horch version.

Thanks again WO. I've enjoyed collecting the AK line as well as EA. The desert buildings are nicely done by K&C and can be used in many different eras. I also have a LOJ collection that the buildings gone well with.

Out of the three, the Greif is probably the best although they never seemed to hit him dead on. There is also Rommel in his staff car, WS 22, which is a personal favorite.

Duke, whichever theater of war, whether it's German,US , Brit or French, you work is so enjoyable. You have realism, variety of theme and use of diorama material that is really on the money. Nice one mate:salute::

Thanks for that Rob.

Experimenting with color/contrast/saturation/etc. Here's another of one of the photos after some changes.

Duke, is that the buildarama backdrop?

Rob

Hi Duke,

Great pictures of the AK sets with Rommel. I like the commanding pose of Rommel in the Horch set, befitting his rank and appointment. WS034 is another Afika Korps Rommel figure. On approximate count, I think K&C has done more renditions of Rommel than any other personality figure (I may be wrong here).

Thanks, Raymond. :)

Thanks again everyone for the comments and likes.

Raymond, There are several more Rommel figures from K&C besides the 3 I have pictured here, the WS034 that you mention and two more I can think of, WS126 Normandy Rommel (I also have this one), and WS196 Rommel in France 1940. That makes 6 Rommel sets from K&C that I can think of. Does anyone know if there are any others?

Duke,

Brad (jazzeum) mentioned WS022 in an earlier post. I had to look this set up on http://www.toysoldiersusa.com/. It is a German Staff Car set with Rommel plus 2 figures. I can't recall seeing any photographs of this set on the forum.

Raymond.
