A Knight approaches his stead - an SE5A at rest. (2 Viewers)

I see everybody been bedazzled by the plane and did not notice the fuel truck.

So here goes .............nice fuel truck !

Jack,
Any info on pilot of the SE5 ?

Brett

It was actually a training aircraft which, I believe, was stationed in England in 1918 but I will confirm with my team.

To show the extent of my collaboration, the fuel truck is a Fitzgibbon job. It is a 1/32nd 1918 Mack AC Tanker manufactured by Chevron. It was originally red before Fitzgibbon (Bob) gave it some magic.

As I was replying my Head of Construction rang and indicated that he might build the Wingnuts Bristol at the same time as the Gotha! The Bristol belonged to Keith Park and apparently is a really lovely looking model. The Gotha has two sets of wheels - one fully inflated and the other sitting lower in case you build it with the bombs. How is that for detail?

Jack
THAT is remarkable detail. I would never have thought of it. The Bristol is a really neat aircraft, too. It stayed in service for a long time and really is iconic. -- Al

Thanks - it is a great poem. I am a Wilfred Owen/Siegfreid Sassoon fan but stumbled across this some years ago. He loses nothing in comparison.

Jack,

He seems like he would belong to that school.

Jack, I was meaning to ask you what the rigging on the Wingnutz SE-5 is made of? It looks really good, as does the whole plane. Like the sunset picture. Got to get some of those JJD ground crew. -- Al

I have sent a pm from my Head of Construction (aka Dad) explaining the rigging atrocity. The JJD ground crew are indeed spot on. I am very impressed with them and the range of options that they offer. I was only going to buy two but now have a dozen or so.

I suspect that a Spad will be landing at your airfield very soon! I have my eye out for a Pfalz and a Gotha.
