Yes they do look very good don't they,I imagine all the sets together would look terrific.^&cool

Rob

Do you think this signifies a change in the whole soviet/east stance from K&C as you have to have some armour for these guys to oppose?? I know you can use them say in an Aachen scene but, they just scream fighting the russians

Difficult to say Mitch, he has said no more Russian stuff , so maybe not for a while but who knows what is in store in the future?. Could be of course that he just likes making the late War German stuff, its always going to sell isn't it.

Rob

the berlin range really hit a cord I think so, anything late war now seems really popular. Thats what I like about the 250 range as they can play around and test the market and make it rare. I would hope for a KVI or KVII but, everyone keeps asking for the T-34. As you say who knows in the future.

An indication of Russian AFV popularity can be had by looking at the sales of the Figarti sets. They produced only 100 of each. The JS-2 sold out fairly quickly but the JSU-152 and iconic 76.2mm gun are still available from dealers. And IMO, they were very good models.

I think a 250 run of K&C T34-76's would sell quickly but other pieces may not.

Keep in mind that the Russians didn't have the variety of AFVs like the Germans. And many of their AFV and truck types were US and British equipment. Which
leaves the possibility that if K&C does a Grant tank or a Dodge truck (which they recently did), they could do a run of 250 in Russian markings with a single Russian figure or half figure.

If you look at say Normandy or Bulge or North Africa releases, these are released every year without fail because they sell very well indeed. Now whilst the late War German items also seem to shift loads, perhaps there is just not the interest in the Russian items from K&C fans. This is not a sweeping statement at all, I'm just putting it out there. Also if you are running a business in these 'straightened' times you are bound to produce what you have a good idea will sell well, perhaps its not the climate to sink money into an area which is a bit of a gamble?.

Another thing that perhaps goes against Russian figures is that perhaps (again this is just chewing the fat) many collectors may only think of them as being at Stalingrad etc, whereas with the German,US and Brit figures there are several different options of theatre of War. Finally perhaps it simply comes down to which theaters of War are more popular with US and European collectors for instance.

Don't sell the Battle of Kursk and the Battle of Berlin short. Those were two very big and well known battles with far more scope for German armour like Tigers and Panthers (and King Tigers in Berlin). Anti-tank armour (jagdpanzer, jagdpanther) and mobile artillery (Elefant, Hummel, Wespe) were thre too. Most of the iconic German armour was not yet in the field when Stalingrad took place. If I was going to do an Eastern Front range, I would start with Kursk.
